No more swaddling?
Ack! My DD just turned 3 months yesterday, but she's already rolling tummy to back. She's been really close to rolling back to tummy and finally succeeded this morning! When my DS did this, I knew we had to stop swaddling, but he was about a month older and no longer had his startle reflex. DD still does.
I know it's not safe to swaddle once she starts to roll, but what can I do so she'll still sleep? Any ideas aside from just trying one arm out? Last night she broke 1 arm out a few times, and woke herself up every time, so I'm afraid that won't work yet for her yet. My only other idea is not to swaddle and buckle her into the RnP (she sleeps in the crib now) but I'm afraid that's moving backwards. Ideas?

Try a sleep sack- if your dd is rolling over the rock And play could be dangerous for her to sleep in overnight.

do not move her back to RNP... DS never slept with his arms swaddled, we always swaddled with arms out - he was our little houdini we called him. try the swaddle sacks that swaddle with the velcro, and leave her arms out.

You could also give Merlins Magic Sleep Suit a try. I plan on trying it as soon as my LO hits 12 lbs (the sleep suits min recommended weight). Tons of women in my "birth club" on babycenter love it

The zippadeeZip is a wearable blanket that covers the hands and feet.

We love the halo sleep sacks. Dd wore the one with the feet holes until after she was 2!

That stinks. Dd just turned 9 months and I still can't get her to sleep well without being swaddled. The one reason I'm thankful she still doesn't roll! My first was out of the swaddle at around a month and slept fine, my second still startles awake after 5 minutes without it.

Re: No more swaddling?
We started using a zipadeezip when he was breaking out of the swaddle around 4 months and it works great.

You can try a HALO sleep sack -- looks like a potato sack with arm hole cut outs -- I know a lot of people who like them and have had success using them. DD is almost 4 months and has been rolling for about 2 weeks -- we stopped with swaddling and decided against wearable blankets just because I thought stopping cold turkey would prevent more transition periods in the future as I would like her to eventually just sleep with a blanket when she's old enough. It only took her 2 nights of sleeping "free" for her to be fine throughout the night. She just sleeps in a cotton long sleeve footie PJ since we run the AC in her room. When it gets cooler out, I'll likely put her in a heavier weight footie PJ, like the fleece ones from Carters. Good luck!

Re: No more swaddling?
Thanks, all. She's already been in the Halo sleep sack with the swaddle so I left one arm out the past 2 nights and she was fine. Thinking tonight I will try 2 arms out. I go back to work in 2 weeks so this is actually good timing since she'll be transitioned to no swaddle before I need sleep in case we have any rough nights. But so far so good!
