Wow, well based off of everyone's responses I guess my chances are pretty low here. I was surprised I wasn't going to be monitored more closely, but I figured since it was my first month there maybe I wasn't being taken so seriously just yet and they were taking a more laid back approach for the first month. I'm not sure if this is typical protocol for this office, but I was really excited about moving forward in this journey and now I'm just completely thrown for a loop thinking I may have to now switch practices
I'm sorry if we made you feel bad. I think you definitely have a decent shot. I think some of us were just taken aback by the no Sunday hours and lack of monitoring. I hate to see people not getting the best care they can. IF is hard enough, you deserve for your RE to give you the best shot. Once again, I'm sorry if we added to your stress.
Yes sorry if I made you feel bad in anyway, I have been to two RE's and even though I had drugs I was monitored so I just wanted to make sure you were getting the very best care. Stay positive and keep us posted!!!
No not at all! I appreciate the feedback. It gives me some things I need to address with the RE. I'm new to all this so I really don't know what the norm is. I expected to be monitored more closely and will definitely question that now. Not much I can do about the Sunday hours since Manhasset is the only location open 7 days, but I'll ask if I can be seen there under those circumstances. Thanks for the info everyone. Will let you know what happens.

Re: First IUI- feeling bummed about timing
Not to discourage you but I had a timing problem last month. My lab work said I was surging (I do daily blood work cuz I don't think the ovulation sticks work for me) but I feel myself ovulating every month and I didn't feel it when I went in for the IUI. They did a sono to check and sure enough I hadn't ovulated yet. A big debate ensued on whether or not to do the IUI that Sunday or wait until Monday. The dr in the office that day I consulted with said the sperm can last up to 48 hours but the egg only 12-24 and if I waited until Monday morning I could be too late and miss my window (this was Sunday at 10:30 AM). I did it that Sunday and ended up ovulating at 5:30 that evening. At LI IVF they have several offices but only Melville (and maybe Brooklyn) are open on weekends so everyone needing monitoring or procedures come to that office regardless of their "home" office. Go to Manhasett next time is my recommendation. Time and tide and women's cycles wait for no man
