Child Health Plus and flu shot

My ped hasn't gotten the flu shot in yet...for my insurance. Has anyone heard of such a thing? We have non Medicaid CHP Fidelis. I pay over $150 a month for DD. We pay the full premium price as per DH salary. I keep calling to ask if the office has received the shot and the receptionist says yes but then asks which insurance I have and then says no they haven't received it for that yet. Has anyone heard of such a thing? I'm getting aggravated now. Never had an issue like this before. She said they've only received it for private insurances only. Seems not right to me.

I agree. That does not sound right. I would call your insurance company and tell them what is going on. They may be able to reach out to the pediatrician.

Yes! Very common. Since child health plus is a state insurance (was also paying full premium!) we had to wait for the state to supply the shot to my Drs office... They also only receive a certain amount! So after waiting weeks by the time I got our appointment once the came in they had run out!!!! So we had to pay out of pocket for the "non-covered by the insurance" shot. It was only $45 thankfully but was still pissed on principal alone.

Edited to add- we had blue cross blue shield at the time - then the next year we started down the same road with amerigroup so we just paid out of pocket again. Husband recently got new insurance through his job and we have an appointment for next week with no issues and no wait time.

Yes -- THe state was VERY backed up on their immunizations. THey had computer issues, and school requirements changed making the amount of shots ordered increase drastically. Our office hadn't gotten state supply of shots in over a month! They kept saying they would send them out next week -- for 3 weeks. We just finally received them today!
