Glucose test questions
ok help me out here. this is my 3rd pregnancy so i would think I am a pro by now lol but anyway this is a different doctors office. I am findind it weird how do they do it.
First, they gave me the drink, to drink at home. i have fast for 3 hours before I get blood drawn. I have to drink it at home then go for blood.
They DO NOT do a baseline draw. How is that possible?
How does yours work?
with my other 2, they took blood, I drank, 1 hr from drinking they drew again. this all 3 different doctors offices, how is it that possible to be so different

Glucose test questions
I went to Sunrise Lab. Drank the drink, then they drew blood. That was it.

oh and I didn't need to fast. This was for the 1 hour though.

My sister didn't have a baseline done either so I guess it depends on the doctor.

I had to fast 1hr before I had to drink. Then I drank and had to be at my OBs office an hour later. They drew blood and I was on my way

For 1 hr, I didn't need to fast. Went in drank the drink and then had blood draw. no fasting or baseline blood draw. For the 3 hr, I had to fast, and had fasting BS draw and 1, 2, and 3 hr.

I had to drink liquid 1 hour before test and just couldn't eat anything after I took liquid. No fasting though (other than hour between drink and blood drawn).

Ditto. I got to the doctor's office about 45 minutes after I finished the drink so they took my blood about 10 minutes later and sent me on my way.

Same. Ate normal breakfast, drank the drink, sat for an hour, then they drew blood. No baseline.
I didn't do a 3 hour.

when I did it 5 years ago, they drew the baseline, I drank the drink, then they drew it again 1 hour later. No fasting before I had the drink either.
