FET at LI IVF
I'm having my second embryo transfer this Saturday at Long Island IVF. The first time was successful but ended in miscarriage at 8weeks. My Dr. Is Kenigsberg but I saw Dr. Kriener for the first transfer. This time Dr Kuokkanen is doing my transfer. Does anyone know if she allows your spouse in the OR? I know Kenigsberg doesn't but Kriener did. I really want my husband with me again because I'm anxious in these situations usually.

I don't think she does. She's done two fresh transfers for me and never invited my husband in. I'm sorry- maybe ask and see what they say? She was very nice though and put me at ease if that helps. Good luck with your transfer!

Thank you! I'm going in at 11 today. Last time he was even able to take a video when Dr. Kreiner did it. Maybe she will let me do it...

Re: FET at LI IVF
Just wanted to let you know that she did let my husband in the OR that day. We had told the nurse that he was in before and that I get anxiety and my husband would help to calm me down. It was too easy, the nurse told the dr and she said yes! We got the whole thing video taped.

This may be a dumb question, but why is embryo transfer done in OR? I thought it was similar to water sono.

It is similar to the water sono. I guess because it is a sterile environment that isn't necessary for a sono but is for the embryo transfer. They made my husband cover up his boots and wear a covering over his clothes mouth and hair. Don't worry I've done it twice and it takes 5 minutes.

Thanks! I thought I was missing something for a moment there :)
