Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
So I found out yesterday that my beta/hcg test was negative and I am in fact not pregnant. Kinda shocking since we transferred 2 this time, I thought I would at least end up with one implanted. After my fresh cycle we had a miscarriage. Good thing is we have 6 embryos left. I am devistated. I haven't made a follow up appt yet bc yesterday I couldn't stop crying long enough to talk to anyone. I was told to stop all meds right away which I guess is the only good part. I'm rambling trying to get to my questions.
So can anyone tell me how long it could take to get my period and how soon they started again after this?
I'm not sure I have the energy to start again but it would be nice to have my baby in 2016 like I planned...
This is so draining mentally and physically and I woke up crying at 4 am because my mother gave birth to a baby in my dream. Here I am wide awake.
(Sorry for all the crazy rambling) I would get ready to take a walk or something if it wasn't 2 degrees outside.

You should get your period soon after you stop your meds & you can start your FET cycle right away at that point. I'm sorry this process can be so hard times we went through ivf & 2 FETs-- 4 embryos total to have our DD. Hugs!

Re: Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
I'm so sorry. I was in your shoes exactly 2 weeks ago today. I went in for blood and got the call that I'm not pregnant. Like you, it was a FET with 2 blasts. And I felt like such a fool because I was mentally preparing myself for twins.
I got my period the next day. I haven't started another FET cycle yet but that was my choice, not my RE's.
Having 6 embryos left is a very good thing! Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding. I am so sorry you went through this too. I am having a rough time. I feel so many things and my face is so swollen from crying. I can't even control it, once I start I can't stop. I'm so angry! I hope that whenever you decide to try again everything goes well for you!

Re: Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
Im sorry. it really sucks to get this news.
You can probably start again once your period comes. which is usually a few days after stopping your meds.

Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
I'm so sorry. I've been there many times. I thought IVF had to work for us and when it didn't multiple times it was like WTF???
Why does your RE think its not working? Are there any other additional tests you can do before doing another FET? I regret doing more rounds before I had immune testing and finally found out the issue.
Your period should come soon now that you stopped all meds. I'm sorry it really sucks.

Re: Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
Thank you. I haven't spoke to my dr yet. Do you have any advice for questions I should ask or tests I should request?

Whats your diagnosis? Who is your RE? Have you had the RLP (recurrent loss panel), endo biopsy, or immune testing? I did all of those when my FET failed. At the time I was unexplained and knew there had to be a reason for transfers not working. I would ask your RE what additional testing he/she suggests. I wouldn't have another FET until I had more answers. I regret doing a FET without a diagnosis.

Not to hijack this thread but I'm unexplained. Not one pregnancy in 3 years yet all our tests are good. Did IVF- had impressive results for my age. Yet so far we implanted 3 blasts and nothing. Would an RE conduct a RLP if there were no losses? I'm at Cornell and they don't believe in immune issues such as high natural killer cells.

Thank you. It is rough. The first few days after the failed FET were the worst. I used to think ivf was this guaranteed thing because before ttc, I only heard about ivf success stories. You never hear about the person who tried ivf and didn't get a baby.

I was unexplained and responded well to meds. My first RE couldn't find anything wrong with us. My RE did the RLP because I had 2 chemicals with 2 of my transfers. You can ask if they would do that type of testing. I asked for any and all testing. When my first RE said he didn't believe in immune issues I went to another RE to get tested. An immune issue was found and I used Prednisone and Intralipids. I believe those 2 things and a protocol change gave me my son. I personally don't believe in being unexplained.

Failed FET. Just might lose my mind
I'm sending you hugs. My third FET with a new doctor but same embryos brought me my DD. He believes in immune management. I think it made the difference for me.
