Trying not to freak out!!! (Baby's head measuring small)
I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and have a lot of pressure down low. I went to OB for weekly appointment and shared my concern. She did an internal and I'm not dilated but head is low. I also learned that the baby's head was measuring in the 3rd percentile at last weeks sonogram (36weeks). She said that it was most likely due to the position of the baby but being that the baby is low now she sending me for a high risk sonogram. I am sure that since she is ok with them taking me on Monday its nothing but I can't help but worry. Anyone have experience with this???

Trying not to freak out!!! (Baby's head measuring small)
It is so hard to measure from a sono. I don't even know why they do it. I wouldn't worry. After dd1 was born every appt the measured and remeasured her head. They always had the dr come in do it again b/c she measured small. They drove me crazy but she just has a small head lol. She's perfect proportioned to her body but accoding to their charts they follow it's small. She's a a happy and healthy almost 6 yr old and is smart as a whip. Nothing is wrong.
Just think about can the possibly measure inside the belly with out getting the circumference. You know? If your dr is not worried try not to worry yourself.

Those sonos are completely inaccurate. I was told my baby was gigantic 2 weeks before I delivered. Well, she was 6 and a half pounds, two weeks AFTER being told she was ginormo baby.
I wouldn't worry.

Re: Trying not to freak out!!! (Baby's head measuring small)
from the time DD was born until her 12 month appointment they told me her head was between the 1st and 5th percentile. Every visit it was "You know your daughter's head is small?" No issues, no concerns, no deficits. Now at 2.5 years old, her head is in the 12th-15th percentile. They are no longer concerned.

Don't read too much into the growth sonos. I find they cause more unnecessary worry. They told me both times that my kids were measuring huge. DS was just under 8 lbs and DD was just over 7 lbs so they were average.

Trying not to freak out!!! (Baby's head measuring small)
I was told my daughter is going to have a huge head because it was measuring 3 weeks bigger than the rest of her. At my next sonogram, she was in the normal range. I swear those sonograms are sooo inaccurate.
