Re: Potty training tips
I'll share what I did.
DD was just over 3 and we were trying on and off for a little while. Since DH and I worked full time it was tough trying to be consistent with training. She was waking up dry every morning for a while and would tell me when she pooped.
One day I took her to the store and made a big deal about her picking out her own potty and some big girl underwear.
Day 1 - no diapers, but in underwear. I put down plastic shower curtain liners I bought from the dollar store to protect my rugs. We would make trips to the potty and nothing, 2 minutes later she peed her pants. She got very upset and wanted the pullups back on. She wore the pullup to bed and still woke up dry the next morning.
Day 2 - try again same thing, wearing underwear. And again would wet herself after sitting on the potty. I got upset so I called my sister, who told me to have her run around with no bottoms on - no underwear or pants. So I tied it, all of the sudden she yells, "the pee pee is coming out" and ran to the bathroom and went on the potty. I rewarded her with a handful of M&M's for peeing on the potty. I was prepared for a battle when it came to pooping (from all other experiences I read). But later that day, she is calling me from the bathroom that she was done going potty and she pooped! Her reward for pooping was a small toy. And that was it, from that moment on she has been going on the potty.
My tips are the plastic shower curtain liners and try not to stress, they will go when they are ready.
Good luck!!

Re: Potty training tips
My best advice is to let DC go commando. Undies give th security of a diaper. I also recommend getting a little potty so they can have some independence to run in when they need to. We used the book, "oh crap, potty training", which is pretty similar to the 3-day method.
