Acupuncture...

So next week I'll be starting my second IVF. I only can have three with my insurance per lifetime, so I'm hoping this one will maybe work. Obviously I'm trying to do all I can in my power to help the IVF be successful (no alcohol, caffeine very limited, good diet, etc). But I was thinking should I do acupuncture as well?

I was wondering what you ladies thought about acupuncture. Does it work? Does it have benefits? We have MFI, DH has had morphology issues on and off, don't know if I had acupuncture if it would be a waste of $$$? DH I don't think would go to acupuncture.

If you have done it or recommend it, is there anyone you would recommend in Suffolk?

Re: Acupuncture...

Definitely can't hurt. Can't say if it played a significant role in helping, but I enjoyed going so win win.

Acupuncture...

Acupuncture helped me. I did not do IVF, but my good friend is an acupuncturist and she helped me. I also went to the NY College of Health Professionals for acupuncture bc that's where my good friend went to school as well. Treatments there are only $30 and even though students work on you, it is overseen by highly regarded professionals in the field. I always felt like I was in good hands there.

Anyway, my good friend gave me advice regarding my diet. She told me to cut all dairy and cold foods from my diet because your body needs to be warm and receptive to accepting a fertilized egg. I also drank a cup of ginger tea every night to help warm my body, stood under a hot shower spray....anything to help warm me up. I could feel the difference when drinking the tea at night. I went from not breaking a sweat at all when drinking my first cup, to feeling warm and toasty by the second week drinking it.

I was PG within 2 months after TTC for almost a year using just the Clear Blue Easy sticks. I definitely think the giving up dairy and cold foods and doing acupuncture helped me.

This! I went for a while and it just helped me personally slow down, breathe and just ground myself for a while. Can't say if it helped or not - had 2 failed IUI's and stopped going before IVF (which happened to be a success). Can't hurt!

I had accupuncture done for months while TTC my daughter. I was the one with fertility issues so it was beneficial.
It couldn't hurt to do accupuncture, but wouldn't it be more beneficial for him to try it? would they be able to help with his morphology issues? Would he go for it?

I thought about doing it. Just didn't have the energy to get it done.

I personally didn't enjoy it & we had male factor like you so I didn't really believe it was beneficial so I stopped before we even began cycle.

Re: Acupuncture...

Many times male factor infertility is due to varicocele which causes poor blood flow and therefore high oxidation levels and poor sperm quality and morph. This was my DH and he did acu with Andy. We got pregnant just two months after he began and his morph was HORRIBLE so for us it def played a factor in increasing his circulation and quality. I did acu for years and it significantly helped my FSH and estrogen levels along with improving my periods and circulation. I had a very difficult time relaxing after work so I always chose to go on my days off when I wasn't wired and could get the most benefit from it.
