What are your elementary school hours?
Our school is 9:10-3:28 but she does before care and after care. The two days a week I work in the city she is at school by 7:20a and the other 3 days I drop her at the before care by 8:40a.
She would love to take the bus but it doesn't come until 8:55a and then I would be super late for work since I have to drop DS off at daycare. So since I am loading them both in the car I just take DS to daycare and then DD to school and somehow make it to work on time.

Re: What are your elementary school hours?
What's surprising me even more than the range of hours on this thread is the fact that our school is only in session for 6 hours while others seem to have longer days. Interesting

OK so I see it's a mix of starting in the 8 am range and the 9 am range.
We used to be 915 to 315. Which to me, for little kids, was a reasonable time.
We had some schools close in our district and they redid the start times of the schools. I wasn't' aware of this but there are early start and later start elementary schools. I am assuming because of buses and the need to stager the start times so the buses could accommodate all the elementary schools in the district.
Our school is now an "early start" school- which means 830 am to 230 pm.
It didn't seem so bad when they first told us, but the bus is now coming at 8 am on the DOT. The school is only 5 min away but the bus shows up at 8 am on the dot. (last year he would show up closer to 15 min from start time- so close to 9 am). This is a new driver and a new route I guess.
this morning she almost missed it. Had to run down the block to catch it
She's tired. I have to wake her each morning. She also used to have time to ease into her day, eat a leisurely breakfast, take her time getting ready, watch a little TV.
I think our kids might go to the same school lol We had 9:15 that changed to 8:30 thanks to schools closing and redistricting. Now I have to pack lunches the night before and drag kids out of bed. The bus came at 7:55 this morning and we were only just crossing the street. Two other families were running too. We were told to be at the stop half hour early which would be 8am. Yesterday and the day before the driver got lost and was asking the kids where to go. Only K,1 and 2 sit near the front. Anyone that could possible know how to get to school was in the way back of the bus. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of mornings at the drop off circle from hell this year!
I think mine go to the same school too lol. M?
As far as dealing with it, I basically do the same as what other people have already said, pick out outfits the night before, have everything packed and ready to go , etc. Oddly enough I do it more for myself because I'm the one who stays in bed as long as possible lol. It's an adjustment but I'm sure it will eventually get better.

LOL. Yup! That's it.
And yes, it has gotten better. Except for yesterday when I overslept and threw the whole thing off. But that was my bad. I'm sooooo not a morning person.

What are your elementary school hours?
For us, it depends on if you are north or south of Sunrise Highway. South is 9:30-3:18. North is 8:30-2:20 I believe. It has to do with the buses.
My son gets the bus at 9am and gets off the bus at 4pm. It's a long day for him.

i don't live on LI... but my son's kindergarten schedule is 8:45-3:15. He gets on the bus at 8:30, and gets home like 3:25/3:30. so he's gone about 7 hours a day total
