We are just scared of baby being injured during a vaginal birth if she's too big. That is the only reason why I am even considering a c section. Dr was telling us baby could end up with broken shoulder or paralysis and it freaked us out. I definitely wouldnt do a c section just because I think it would be easier. I just don't want to put the baby in any unnecessary danger.
Congrats on your baby!!
This is a horrendous scare tactic to use. Your doc should be ashamed of themselves.

Re: C sections
With my first baby was measuring 9lbs and she still induced me. I gave birth vaginally to a 9.9lbs baby. My recovery was fine with some meds.

I've never delivered naturally- and after having a c-section I definitely wouldn't want to. For me, there were zero downfalls. DD was out safely in 10 minutes. No pushing, no complications. Completely controlled environment. She came out, they put her on my chest and we hung out while I got glued up. She never left my side.
As for recovery, I was walking around the next day. This may be TMI, but they cleaned me out so well that I hardly bled. My abdomen was a little sore for maybe a week, but I felt fine otherwise. I was Christmas shopping and taking DD for walks. Hosted Christmas dinner 2 weeks later.
Obviously everyone's experience is different, but I couldn't imagine delivering any other way.
Pretty much me after both my deliveries. I was up and about right away and pretty much back to normal activities within 2 weeks. My 2nd section was a little tougher but still not bad. The only side effect is numbing in my stomach. I'm 7 months pp.

This is me. My 1st I had an emergency one after 2 days in labor and took a little longer for recovery but still not bad at all. My 2nd was scheduled. So relaxed, I was up and walking within 12 hours. I had no pain meds at all after the surgery and was driving again 5 days later.

Re: C sections
I had 2 C-Sections, I would do anything to not have to have one. My first was breech and my 2nd I had 2 major spinal surgeries and I was not have to have a vaginal delivery based on that. The first was hard very hard. I would also add that my 2nd they told me my daughter 1 week before delivery was all most 10 lbs, she was born at 7lbs 10oz. I would at least try an induction, if you need to change your mind during it thats always an option.
