Has anyone been called for jury duty recently?

I am on standby for next week. They called 800 people for Monday. Do they call that amount per day or do they tend to call less as week goes by?

My husband was just on standby last week and he was in the 620's and was called for Tuesday. He got dismissed same day.

It really depends on the case load that week, how many people got dimissed the first day, etc
It varies.
Both times I had to call I purposely deferred it to holiday weeks knowing the schedule would be light.
And I lucked out with a pretty high number each time.
So I never had to go in- thank God

But it's a crap shoot

I understand. This is my second postponement. Last one i made first week after holidays thinking that, but had to put it off as I had surgery that week. I somehow picked next week. I will get it over with this time.

I had to call 2 weeks ago. I was number 1978. They called 600 the first day, 300 the second, 800 the 3rd, and then I had to report on Friday. This was for Suffolk county.

Mondays and Wednesdays are usually the big days. Tuesdays and Thursdays they call fewer b/c they have holdovers from the day before. It really depends on the judges' dockets, though.
