Mice
We heard something in the basement ceiling one night so we set up some traps- One in the access panel in the basement, one in laundry room ceiling because it's partially exposed, and two traps in the kitchen on either side of the dishwasher because i thought i might have heard something.... In one night, we caught two adult mice and 1 baby mouse
We think they may have made their way in through the basement AC unit we have. The wood that is surrounding it had a small hole that they probably squeezed though. We sealed it up, but obviously want to fix the problem inside of the house.
For anyone who ever had a mouse problem, how many did you end up catching? I am so grossed out and can't believe this. I am such a neat freak and I'm always cleaning! I never leave food out or anything ugh...

Mice
Ugh my parents had this at their house. We had flies one year trapped by our window. Call knock out pest control very reasonable. We have a yearly contract and pay $450 for the year for any issues or preventative care

Re: Mice
I hate mice. When my parents had this problem, they caught at least a dozen. They breed SO quickly. If you caught one baby, there's more. I'd call a pest control or else keep putting out those traps every night. My mom also started using those plastic bins for everything- especially sugar/flour, cereal... boxes they can chew through ya know? Good luck!

i know me too... when i heard the trap go off I started crying lmao- I am so freaked out and terrified. Nothing was caught last night at all, but we plan to keep traps out until we have 5-6 days of no activity

Mice
i was told they come inside to set up a home to breed. so you definitely might have more mice still inside. you could keep setting up the traps and as long as you sealed the entry point, you will get them. or you could call an exterminator and they will look for any additional entry points, set up traps inside and also outside traps to monitor activity.

Re: Mice
I would leave traps for a few weeks. They really beat around. If you’ve sealed the hole then that is most important.
We had an issue in our garage. So gross,

Re: Mice
We have this problem in our house upstate and it skeeves me the hell out. The problem with rat poison is they eat it and then go crawl in the walls and die - guess what decaying mice smell like - DISGUSTING.
You have to close up every single hole no matter how tiny you think it is.
Being we're moving to the house and I'm not having this crap... my friend made for his home a "bucket mouse trap". He caught so many - it was gross. He's making me one for our basement and highly recommended closing up every hole possible.

problem is you may not even see the hole. the exterminator thinks the mice are coming in from under my deck. i can't do anything about that :(

Re: Mice
A few weeks ago I noticed droppings. I freaked out!
Ran out and picked up glue and snap traps. I must’ve put down 10 traps. We caught two the first night and one a day later. I left the traps down for over a week- nothing else.
We’re in the middle of hurting the basement , between that and the cold weather, I’m assuming they came in for warmth. They were field mice. We occasionally find them float in the pool during the summer.
I’m still grossed out by this!!

Mice
so we killed 2 adult mice, a male and female, and 1 baby mouse in the first night which was about a week ago. We haven't had any activity at all until last night when we caught another one! ugh... it was another smaller mouse. I'm wondering how many more there are??? I read if they had babies, it's like 6-8 of them ugh

Re: Mice
There's really no way for us to tell you how many there are. Maybe you caught them all. Maybe you didn't. But if the hole that they came in through is still open, then there's a good chance more will find their way in. You need to close up whatever holes exist.

we closed up everything (i hope) the night we caught the first three. I am thinking the 4th one we caught the other day was already in the house since before we closed it all up. Fingers crossed

Re: Mice
We had one in the wall last year, I could hear it scratching around!! I think it somehow got in the basement, then crawled up into the wall in our living room! I think it died in there because there was a weird stench for a few days, gag!! I bought something you plug in that radiates a sound in the wires in your walls, and that is supposed to keep them out. We'll see this year!
