Hindu Wedding Ceremony Questions

I am going to a wedding in 3 weeks, we are going to the Hindu ceremony in the morning. Some questions:


1. Can anyone share example of what I should wear?give me ideas please, even accessories!!

She mentioned certain styles not being appropriate. What does that mean and what styles should I stay away from? Any colors I shouldn't wear?

2. Can I get henna?

3.If you have ideas for my male that would be great.

4. There is a Baarat. What does that entail?

Hindu Wedding Ceremony Questions

1 you can wear an Indian Lengha (top and skirt) if you want to be dressy. In the temple some places frown on showing too much skin, that may be what she means. 2 will the bride be having a Henna/Mehendi night? If you were invited to this event this is where you would get henna done. It’s like a women’s party where the bride and her female friends and family dance and get henna done.
3 a Kurta (more casual) or Sherwani (dressy suit style )
4. The Baraat is the grooms procession, made up of his family and friends. There will be dancing and music for his arrival at the ceremony location. Sometimes the groom will arrive in a fancy car, elephant etc...
