Renting DVC points
I just put in my request form for our trip in Feb. I used David's DVC Rental. We are doing a split stay looking to get 2 nights at AKL. If this doesn't work out has anyone every rented points directly through an owner and how did you find them? Thank you.

Renting DVC points
I rented from a guy that came highly recommended from a few people I know. My sister and I both rented points through him at the Polynesian last winter. He is great his name is Bill and his email is [email protected]. I had such a great experience.

Re: Renting DVC points
Give it a little bit of time. If you are going President's week, right now the only people who can book AKL are people who own there. The booking window for everyone else (people who don't own at AKL) opens in July - it's 7 months to the date.
So right now, in order for David to rent you points, there has to be an owner at AKL who wants to rent. Once the 7 month (as opposed to 11 month) booking window opens, things will change.
Right now it looks like there's still availability at AKL for that week.

Thank you for this information. I am still on the list with Davids.

Thank you for this email, I will keep it just in case David's doesn't come through.

Renting DVC points
What's the benefit of renting points vs. booking rooms directly through Disney. I know one could be a cost benefit but are there others?
Is renting points really that much cheaper than booking rooms directly or when they have those special packages?

Really?!?! Hmm - this may be a good option for when we decide to book our trip in Dec. 2019.
How do you find a reputable company or person to do this?

just to give you an example of savings. For 2 nights during presidents day week (which is a prime week) it is $750 a night for a savanna view room at Animal Kingdom Lodge. With renting points it will cost 697 for 2 nights around an $800 savings. Davids Vacation Club rental website is reputable.

I have used Davids Vacation club 5X already. Go on the website, it's very easy to navigate through.

Renting DVC points
I know that you took care of this already, but another legitimate place is DVC Rental Store. I've rented from both Davids and DVC rental store. I had a positive experience at both. However, it is definitely hit or miss when you're planning in advance and need a lot of points.
2 years ago, I tried with Davids and couldn't get anything for a while, and jumped to DVC rental store and got it booked within a few days. Last year, it was the opposite. We were getting a 2br Savanna view for Presidents week, so it was a lot of points.
to the OP, its a great experience. We were at Kidani the first time for a short stay, and AKL the second. Definitely try and enjoy the resort, and not just spend 100% of the time at the parks. They have a great pool, marshmellow roasting at night, night viewing goggles, great resturants

I plan on spending one whole day at the resort to enjoy all the different things you can do there. Thank you for the suggestion of the DVC Rental Store, I did check them out too there were a little more money the Davids.
