Does anyone know anything about seizures?
I think I had one today or I passed out. Really embarrassing because it happened in a work meeting. Wasn’t feeling that well this morning and I only had a meeting in the afternoon because it’s semester break. It’s not hot here and I only ate a little bit of food- half a sandwich, a German pretzel, and some fruit. I started to shake a bit, my eyes couldn’t focus, and I started getting nervous. I stood up from the table and I apparently raised my arms and fell to the floor. My colleagues said I was having a seizure. They called an ambulance, but I didn’t want to go, so I just went to break room. My SO came to pick me up. I also didn’t get much sleep at all.
The thing is I have a history of passing out from heat, blood, and needles. I have had this all my life. Now I’m wondering if it is something different. This happens every few years, but this is the worst one ever.
I don’t want to go on Dr. Google. So I just want to know if anyone has experience with this.
TIA

The only way they can diagnose is if they observe one or detect one on an EEG. Did your coworkers comment on what your behaviors were during this episode?
My father is an epileptic and has violent convulsions when having a seizure. In his case, he does not feel any different...but some people do. Different seizures have different symptoms.
Definitely see a doctor, possibly a neurologist. Another thing that may be worth looking up is something called a syncope.
Good luck and I hope you feel better!

My husband has one of these every few years. The consider it a syncope episode and claim that it is from low blood pressure. I think there is more to it, but he's had every test they can think of and it all comes out normal.

Re: Does anyone know anything about seizures?
I would get it checked out just to be safe. It could be nothing- maybe you really just fainted from low blood sugar, heat, nerves, an anxiety attack, a multitude of things. But if it really was a true seizure you want to get to the bottom of it with a neurologist. You don't want to have one while driving or something, God forbid.

This. My daughter has epilepsy but her seizures are not like yours and vice versa
There are many different kinds
But syncope was the first thing that popped in my head when I read your post
Hope you feel better

Yes this happened to me and it is called Vasovagal syncope.
I had passed out at 230 fifth on the rooftop bar. When I woke up I was in a security officers arms as he was carrying me to a couch. That was 3rd time it happened and I decided to go to the dr.
I did have to go through various test. wear a heart monitor. Did a stress test and a tilt table test at stony brook.
My doctor said to carry saltines with me. I was working out a lot at the time and would sweat out all the salt and was really eating a restrictive diet and not taking much salt in.
Each time it happened to me I was very excited about what was going on.
It's very scary when it is happening to you. My vision got fuzzy and it was almost like tunneling where I blacked out, my hearing was going and I felt myself going down. My body was also over heating.

OMG. The same exact thing happened to me in my 20s. Literally word for word, down to the tests (except mine were done at North Shore). Was diagnosed with the same thing but have never heard of anyone else having it! This hasn't happened to me in about 12 years at this point, but boy those fainting episodes were scary.
I fainted once in Penn Station. DH was right next to me. I don't even remember. Just saying everything was getting blurry, couldn't hear him and next thing I know, there is a crowd around me and I'm laying on the ground. I had ripped my pantyhose (of course I was wearing a skirt). and a cop was grilling DH (not knowing we were married) asking him if he spiked my drink and they were arguing. Wow! Haven't thought about this in years.

What's weird is 2 out of the 3 times it's happened.. I was in NYC...
The first time I thought I was having a panic attack. I didn't tell anyone because I was scared.
