holiday gift-giving question - spinoff
what are your parameters to "cut off" a young adult?
and yes, these questions are because my gift-giving list is a little more than i would like and i want to find a reasonable way to broach the subject with a few people.

Re: holiday gift-giving question - spinoff
For close relatives- as in my first nieces and nephews- we will give until 21 (and it's basically cash and gift cards once they get past the toys stage) Anyone else- like my cousin's kids- etc we kind of never started. MAYBE for like their first Christmas and if I was seeing them at a family gathering for the holidays. That's it though.

Re: holiday gift-giving question - spinoff
I only give to close relatives nephew, nieces & god children. And I haven’t stopped giving yet. My oldest nephew is 28. He also now buys for me and my DH so it’s become an exchange. We’ve been giving them all the same $50 (whether in toys or now that they are older in gift cards) forever. I now buy for his girlfriend because I love her and feel like she’s already my niece. Once they are married, I will combine their gift to one for $100. But same difference really.

holiday gift-giving question - spinoff
Our cut-off has been 18 for giving gifts. They either join the white elephant game or participate in the donations we do to the local parish outreach.
