new Driver License
By 10/2020 everyone who wants to travel will need a new drivers license.
I need to renew my this month and caught between the two. I really don't travel. I cant tell if its bumped up will we still need a passport to travel via plane/cruise to other countries.
Any renew recently?

If you have a passport you won't need the enhanced license

You don’t need the enhanced license to fly domestically - you can use the Real ID license, which costs the same as the current one, that allows you to do everything your current license does now.
The difference in the enhanced is for $30 more you can go to Canada, Mexico and some Caribbean destinations without a passport.
I switched to the Real License last summer. It took awhile with an appointment but I e heard wait times have declined.

You will need the real ID, enhanced ID, or a passport for domestic flights. I plan on just renewing my passport at this point

My license expires in Feb 2021, so I just plan on using my passport if I travel any time between Oct 2020 and Feb.
My DH’s expires next month and he already made a DMV appt to renew it for the enhanced version.

I have years left for my license I renewed last year. I just got my new passport because that expired. I don’t plan to get one until mine expires

You can use a passport to travel anywhere, including within the US. If you do not have a passport, you will need at least the Real ID drivers license to travel domestically
