Who has Aflac?
What do you think of it? Would you recommend it? We have a rep coming to our job soon & I am contemplating it. I'm a little confused about how it works. Would love some feedback. TIA

Re: Who has Aflac?
I have an AFLAC short term disability policy. Have had it for a number of years, and have used it to make several claims.
I have found the reps to be very responsive when you're looking to buy the policy, but then you never hear from them again.
I have used the policy quite a few times. The "one day" pay is BS - so just know that going in. It doesn't apply to disability.
I actually just used the policy for a major surgery where I was out of work for over a month. I had to submit the claim 4x for them to finally pay it. First they said they couldn't read the paperwork, then they said it was missing something, then they said it was previously paid. Finally, they paid out on it - the day before I was scheduled to return to work and 6 weeks after surgery. I am now only working part time and have submitted a claim for partial disability the other day. Fingers crossed that goes smoothly.
I will say that they do pay out on claims, it's just a hassle. Every single time I have submitted a claim, there is a delay on their end for some reason!

Who has Aflac?
We have an AFLAC accident policy. We’ve made some claims and they are great.
It’s very handy if you are clumsy like I am.

Re: Who has Aflac?
I just got the cancer coverage and then the accident policy given I have 3 boys. But then I did the math. My co-pay for urgent care is $25. It was going to be $17/month for the accident policy. We realized we needed a lot of injury to make it worth it so I cancelled it. I kept the cancer coverage though.

Who has Aflac?
I should be the next Aflac rep I recommend to everyone and think it’s great! I have though my employer the cancer, accident, hospital, and short term disability I have cancer, accident and hospital with surgical rider for a family of 4 and short term disability to cover my salary for me. I pay $114 a pay check for all, and it’s worth it in my opinion! My son was hospitalized with asthma multiple times and I don’t have a hospital copay, I still just submit the receipt and get $170 direct deposited the next day, it helps even just paying for parking. My son had stitches submitted under accident $150 next day. I was out sick with pneumonia for 5 weeks, I had sick time to cover 4 weeks and Aflac still paid me for 5 weeks, bonus money. My policies already paid for itself. You are lock in at that rate for life and you can keep them even if you leave your employer

Re: Who has Aflac?
My sister had the cancer benefit and was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She received thousands of dollars from her policy. $6k alone just for the diagnosis. She is now cancer free (Thank God ) and she still receives monthly checks for a medication she will have to be on for the rest of her life.

Re: Who has Aflac?
Just to give you an update of how frustrating they can be:
I filed a continuing disability claim (for partial disability since I am only back to work part-time).
Submitted the claim 10/4 via fax. It doesn't appear on the website that they received it. I called the automated system - it's not there either. I finally speak to a human who told me that they did receive it but they are backlogged.
As of today, they are reviewing and processing claims dated on or before September 18, 2019.
Now I know they will pay the claim, but just be warned that you may be waiting for payment for a while...…
The policy has definitely paid for itself, BUT it is annoying dealing with them.
