I would run like hell and grab that LI job. LI tenure track jobs are very hard to come by... take it NOW!

thank you everyone for your input. i guess im just feeling really guilty. i know in my mind that taking the job if its offered is the right choice, i just feel bad about leaving my principal high and dry.
if i get the LI job ill post the city job, its actually a really good building. it will definately be bitter sweet.

yes, please post or FM your job if you leave it... my husband is a Fellow... he's SO smart and we're trying to get him a good school. what grade level/subject??

I'm curious about this... I know in VA if you leave a contract in VA, the district has the right to revoke your teaching certificate.
Cant they do this in NY?

No, I don't think so... i mean there are extenuating circumstances for breaking a contract....
NYC never makes you sign anything except a commitment letter, so I think she'll be okay.

interview was cancelled. apparently the teacher who quit, unquit?! whatever. its prbably for the best. it wouldve been hard to leave my class and go to a new one mid-year.
im trying to keep telling myself "everything happens for a reason".
