Question for buisness owners/hiring managers.

Would you hire someone if they told you during the interview they were pregnant?

just so you know, it's illegal for them to tell you that they won't hire you.

it's also illegal for them to ask.

if it's obvious you're preggo, they will know.

keep the interview to your skills and what you bring to the table.

good luck.

Yes I would. I hired someone that I didn't know was pregnant & wasn't very happy that she didn't tell me about it because I looked foolish when she showed up with a belly a month later. She's not required to tell me but it would have looked better for me to go to my manager & say "I'm hiring ___. I also wanted to let you know that she's pregnant but I have no doubts she will do a great job."

I know some managers would be hesitant not because they think the person couldn't do the job but because their manager would look at it as you're hiring someone who is going to leave us for 3 months & may not come back.

I have an interview tomorrow and don't know if I should mention it or not. I am 23 weeks, I am showing, but I can hide it too. I really need the job, but I also don't want to have to tell them after I get the job.

I wouldn't say it in the first round of interviews at all. Let them love you based on what skill set you bring to the table.
