unexplained bruises
I have two small circular bruises near my knee, but I have no idea what caused them... my mom (who i should mention is a hypochondriac) thinks I should go to the doctor and check my blood levels just to make sure there's nothing serious causing the unexplained bruising.... is she overreacting or should I go to the doctor?

Re: unexplained bruises
I would see a doctor. I sometimes become anemic and I bruise more when I am. Could it also be an injury to that area & maybe you just didn't realize how severe it was?

Re: unexplained bruises
It coulld be a sign that you are anemic. Do you go for a yearly physical? They can check your iron then.

Re: unexplained bruises
I wouldn't worry about it unless you get more bruises. You may have just bumped into something.

Re: unexplained bruises
I'd just go to my PCP for some blood work. They can check red and white counts, hemoglobin etc and let you know if anything is off. Since it is an easy test, I"d do it for peace of mind.

Re: unexplained bruises
sometimes i get bruises that idk where they came from. i don't worry about them but if this happens often to you, there's no harm in going in for a check up and a blood test.
