Re: boo boos on my doggies paws
I clean it off with wound cleaner, dry it very well, then wrap it and put on a dog shoe.
If that doesnt work, clean, dry, wrap and put a baby sock on it and duct tape it closed.
I know its weird but that was the only way we could get our past dog to stop licking his foot.

Re: boo boos on my doggies paws
If there are open sores I would use animax or triple antibiotic ointment at night until it heals. If there are not open sores try mushers secret or vaseline.

Re: boo boos on my doggies paws
I'd get a comfy cone first, to stop the licking and keep them as clean as possible, especially after being outside. I use Bactine with pain reliever.
Then I'd go after the source of the problem, whatever it is. If there's no way it was due to rough ground your dog was walking on, it could be allergies to something it's being exposed to or eating. Many times this comes out in paw irritation. Dog paws are usually very warm and they sweat from them too - it's a breeding ground for bacteria.
Good luck

Re: boo boos on my doggies paws
You can also try cleaning them wth some peroxide. Also give her fish oil capsules-helps the skin and coat

I wondered what the problem could be as well. My first thought was "hot spots" but I'm not sure that I've heard of them being on the back pads. Sometimes dogs will lick their paws until they bleed if they're bored, leading to "hot spots." Kongs are great toys for dogs that get bored easily. Best of luck!
