Re: beef stew crockpot
depends on how big your crockpot is, but here's a basic recipe i use and vary depending on what i have around:
1.5 lbs cubed stew meat cut up peeled potatoes, carrots into cubes place beef on bottom of crock pot, add veggies over it i sometimes also add peas or diced celery, diced onion, or mushroooms, cubed parsnips etc i sometimes throw in a can of stewed tomato, and have been known to add red wine as well!
pour one and a half jars of beef gravy (i sometimes mix beef with mushroom gravy) over meat and veggies.
season generously with salt/pepper - can add oregano as well
cook on low for 6-8 hours.
may need to add some cornstarch at the end to thicken the gravy.
If you have a beef gravy powder (there is a brand called Bisto, its English, and awesome) you can add that to the end as well - it adds a ton of flavor and thickens the gravy nicely instead of cornstarch
