Finding a lump in breast
I have been having soreness in my breat for a little over a month. Figured it was because I was on the pill. Last week I felt lump. I finally called my dr to schedule an appointment. I'm very nervous. I have no clue what happens once you find a lump. I'm 30. My mom was 39 when she had to have a lumpectomy because she had a precancerous lump. Can anyone give me some insight as to what generally happens? Tia

Re: Finding a lump in breast
I can't speak for having a precancerous lump but I did find a lump in my breast and after a few days of horror leading up to a sonogram, it was determined to be a cyst and its fine. I still have it and was told to watch my breasts over time but its nothing to worry about.
My aunt had a lump removed when she was about my age as well. Just know that there are a lot of things it could be, not just cancer. I know its hard to stay positive but just know, there are LOTS of NON cancer things it could be!

I'm thinking it's probably nothing it's just one of those things you just can't help but worry about.

Re: Finding a lump in breast
I found something years ago and went for a sonogram and needle biopsy. It was nothing. Cyst.
I have had lumpy armpits and went for sono and it was found that I have excess breast tissue going under my arms. I also had my first Mammo (3D) this year, I'm 36
I know it's scary, but try not to get too scared. It can be soooooo many things. Our minds always go right to the worst case scenario.
Everything will be ok

Of course! You are totally normal to worry! But try to remind yourself that there are other things it could be.
