Do you like it? Let's say it was in the price point you would normally spend on a bag, would you buy it? I do not like gifts with strings attached, and it would sour me greatly on the item. It is a lovely bag, but if it is not you, then take your dh and get a bag that is you. I don't think he gets the every day vs special occasion bag. To me it is an every day bag, albeit an expensive every day bag. I mean it is not a birkin, but how many people actually have one of those outside of celebrities or the ladies who lunch in Manhattan? I don't know anyone IRL who actually ownes a real birkin. But Mk is what a lot of my friends carry on a daily basis.
