breakthrough bleeding?
Did anyone experience this? I have been spotting since two days ago, and it started getting slightly heavier today, when AF was due. Still not heavy enough to even need a pad, but I am still very worried.
My doctor said there isn't really anything he could do right now, but that it could be "breakthrough bleeding".. he said if my levels aren't high enough yet, my body wouldn't be able to stop my period from coming yet, so this could potentially happen at 4, 8 and even 12 weeks along. I get my bloodwork results later on today..
Has this happened to anyone?

It could be a couple of factors but you really won't know for sure until at least 2 betas if HCG is rising significantly it could just be a breakthrough but if it doesn't double it could be a chemical pregnancy.

I'm now wearing a pad so I'm thinking i'm out now.. going back to the dr today and will probably get more bloodwork done to see the difference in levels

My experience with bleeding like that is that it's a chemical pregnancy and it wasn't viable. I'm so sorry if that is the case. Either way, right now there is nothing they can do. If they find that your progesterone levels were low, next time they will put you on prog sups to help.

Re: breakthrough bleeding?
It truly is a shame that they're unable to help these issues. There's really nothing at all that a doctor can do other than check & give you a yes or no. I wish with all the technology we have nowadays that there could be a way to help a woman hold onto a pregnancy, but I agree with above that in most cases it happens because pregnancy was not viable. In other cases, it's a whole other issue that they CAN help in the future (like progesterone, baby aspirin, daily injections of lovenox, etc, etc). So if this does end up going the way we hope it doesn't, I hope that they can at least find some answers that will help you in the future.

well this would be the second mc in a row so I definitely want some answers now- I am in my mid-twenties so I know it's not age-related, and I'm very regular so I would like to know why this isn't working!!

breakthrough bleeding?
So I did have another mc- The positive though is that we realized my luteal phase is too short, so I will be getting clomid- Getting pregnant wasn't the battle, it was just staying pregnant that was the issue. Hopefully this will make a positive difference :)

That could have been me writing this exactly. I know how you feel. I've experienced 6 early miscarriages and meanwhile I am young, healthy, and have perfect cycles. I demanded to know answers and have even gone to several specialists. Nothing has ever come back conclusive. How can my body and cycles be healthy and "perfect" when I was unable to hold onto a pregnancy? It was frustrating as hell. Meanwhile, I ended up getting pregnant with my DD (who is now 4) coincidentally. That was after 3 losses and I had done nothing differently. Trying for #2 was the same ordeal, with 3 more losses, but this time I was put on progesterone and some other things and I'm now in my 2nd trimester. So don't give up hope, though I know it's INCREDIBLY frustrating and sad. I did see your update that you have a short luteal phase and that you'll be trying clomid, so definitely be happy about that. I prayed constantly for SOME kind of answer, for SOMETHING new to try. I hope this will help!! And that you'll be celebrating a healthy pregnancy with your forever baby soon!!
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. It sucks - that's all I can say. Things like this just shouldn't happen.

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this again. Did they check your progesterone at all? I would demand that they check your prog the next time you get a BFP, this way they know for sure if that is having anything to do with it. Good luck!!!

So very sorry. I hope they can fix the issue quickly and you can get your rainbow baby!
