C-Section Scheduling
If you're having/have had a scheduled c-section how far in advance did you schedule? I ask because as per my OB I should be scheduled for the week of the 14th, however, I'm told there is no availability at the hospital (this was originally discussed 2 weeks ago). Has this happened to anyone? I mean it's not a hair appointment, I kind of need this baby out.

What hospital? I was surprised how tight the scheduling was the first time around. I was told there are no times open!
I had 2 scheduled at NSUM , the day before my due date and a late evening time. I went early both times (exact to the day), and I'm not allowed to schedule early for this one. I'm a bit upset since of course I will go into labor and it will be an emergency C

It's up to the hospital how far in advance they will start scheduling. Usually it's in the 3rd trimester, I think around 32 weeks. Then your OB usually works with the hospital to do the actual scheduling. They won't leave the baby in! You just won't get an ideal time...like later in the afternoon, rather than early morning. Women always go into labor early so spots tend to open up as it gets closer anyway.
Who told you there's no availability? They will have to find something for you!

I was told Winthrop opens up their December schedule on October 1st. That's when I scheduled mine for next week. They have to have something for you. What are they saying to you?

I was sceduled several weeks ago for mine on dec. 30. They called me to ask my preference of doctor and date as soon as the week opened up. I'm delivering at NSUH.

My doctor gave me a date at 22 weeks (after I asked him for one). I'm not sure when it was officially scheduled with the hospital but they told me today that I'm all set for 9 am.
