Port Orleans- FQ or Riverside?
Ok so kind of spinoff to my prior post about "Pop Warner" week... my DH wants to go during his birthday week so looks like we have to work with Pop Warner week. I am told that they are at all value resorts plus spillover into Caribbean Beach and Coronado... so that leaves Port Orleans where I might be safe from the rowdiness LOL.
What is the difference between French Quarter and Riverside? Is there one you prefer over another or better for kids? My kids will be 4 and 7 when we travel.

Port Orleans- FQ or Riverside?
FQ is great. Very small and they don't have a million internal bus stops . I like that one!

Re: Port Orleans- FQ or Riverside?
We stayed at Riverside this past April. My kids are 6 and 8. They have a fun pool with a small waterslide and sprinklers. They also have a "quiet" pool, which is just a regular, typical pool. Riverside has a horse and carriage ride at night around the grounds and there is also a boat that takes you to Disney Springs (there is a stop for the boat at FQ also). There is also an arcade. Not sure if they have a sminilar room in FQ, but Riverside has a Royal Room, which is like a room in a castle.

Re: Port Orleans- FQ or Riverside?
I did FQ because we planned on using the bus. The bus was easy.
The pros: Great pool. Awesome slide which my 2 year old could go on with her puddle jumper. She loved it. They also have a little water park area with a few slides, a big bucket and water guns. This was great and we went back to our resort to cool off because it was great.
I don’t think they charged me for parking. Though they are beginning to charge (I really think this is obnoxious).
Bus was very easy
The cons: The room was clean but dark and looked refurbished. Really the rooms were ugly (but clean). The grounds were pretty though.
The food options are limited to an overpriced cafeteria. This may be true in all resorts. I mostly ate at the park and the stuff from my fridge.

Port Orleans- FQ or Riverside?
We stayed at FQ in January. Loved the pool, all the hotel activities (movie night on the lawn, smores, poolside bingo, Disney Trivia, arts n crafts by the pool), and the quick boat ride to Disney Springs.
The room was just ok for what it is. The only thing I was not impressed with was the food.
