Please no judgement
I have been struggling w a weight gain. I’ve tried weight watchers, walking daily, watching what I eat etx and nothing seems to be working
Has anyone tried or have results w Lipo-light body contouring?
A local wellness center has been advertising and I can’t get the idea out of my head. Who knows if the pics and reviews are true

I also struggle with my weight so I know where you're coming from!
Are you able to afford a personal trainer? Maybe having someone help you more than just WW would help.

Re: Please no judgement
Have you check with a doctor about your thyroid?
About the procedure, it is not invasive, so I don't think it is dangerous. However, I'm very skeptical of those. I did cool sculpting years ago and it was a disaster. What I saw in pictures was far away from my reality.

Re: Please no judgement
I don't think they work over the long term. I've seen friends have short term success with a combination of those procedures combined with dieting but once they go off the diet they gain it all back. Honestly the only thing that has worked for me is a lot of cardio combined with an extremely low cal diet and then once I get to my target still doing low cal/low carb to maintain. I feel like it's so hard once we get older.
Have you tried anything like the lose it app? That really makes you stay accountable.

I have heard nothing but horror storeis, so I'd stay away.
Have you been tested for insulin resistance. DH could never loseweight. He dieted almost his whole life. Weight Watchers, working out, you name it. He'd drop 10-15 pounds, then plateau then put it all back on. He thought it was a thyroid issue, it wasn't.
Turns out his body couldn't process sugar and carbs. Once he learned that, he was able to lose the weight and keep it off.
People who are insulin resistant hold onto fat and don't have much success with traditional diets. He had to change the way he ate 100%

Re: Please no judgement
I struggle with weight and am currently on WW along with DH. It's slow going for us, but at least I am losing. Menopause makes it difficult and I want to lose the weight before it really sets in. Honestly, I didn't get fat quickly, so I cannot expect to lose all this weight quickly either.
I'd be careful with something like that. It seems like a quick fix and won't cure the underlying problem why you are gaining weight. Have you had a complete physical lately to figure out why you are gaining weight and not losing when making dietary / exercise changes ? That should be your first step.
Good luck ! You are not alone in weight struggles.

Re: Please no judgement
When you say you are watching what you eat, are you actually cutting your calorie intake? Watching what you eat, and eating "healthier" doesn't mean you will lose weight. You have to cut those calories down dramatically.
I started a weight loss mission late last year. I used to eat a TON of crap. Fast food, take out, etc. Never counted calories. I would sometimes eat "healthier" and walk or go for a bike ride in the hopes I would drop some weight, and that did nothing. I had to make drastic changes. I cut my calories down to about 1,000 a day at first. AND I went to the gym everyday. You can't just "walk", you have to walk fast, and walk up hill, on a treadmill is good! I would do an hour of that, which was about 400 calories. Fast forward to now, and I've lost 35lbs, and went from a size 12 to a size 6. I also take a B12 supplement every few days, and start my day with hot green tea (plain). And I'm not posting my results to "brag" or make you feel bad, but to show you that it's possible. NOW I eat more, and I "cheat", and I haven't been to the gym in a couple of weeks. I also haven't gained anything back though (actually lost a couple more pounds, go figure!).
Good luck, and I think you can do this without a cosmetic thing!

Re: Please no judgement
Another thing to remember is that you can never out-exercise a bad diet. Losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. You can drop weight without ever setting foot in a gym or exercising, just by cutting calories. Exercise helps you create a calorie deficit but it's not a must. And exercising won't compensate for bad eating. I know someone who eats like crap all day long and then goes, oh it's ok I walked today. Um no it's not actually. When my husband started his weight loss he wasn't comfortable enough to go to the gym. He lost 30 lbs without a stitch of exercise and then felt good enough to start working out.

I do not think gimmicks like that work long term unfortunately.

Are you tracking every single thing you eat and drink? I know I am guilty of finishing my DS' pizza slice or eating some cheese as I prep my healthy dinner. Anything that you eat and drink no matter how small must be tracked. A calorie deficit is necessary to lose weight and little bites and sips add up.
Do you have an activity tracker - like a fit bit to track steps? I think most people do not realize how sedentary they actually are. Increasing your step count is something that you can easily do without having to do any real "exercise". I have a Garmin that buzzes when I have been sitting for too long. I take that as a hint that I need to get up and move around a bit - even if it is just a trip to the bathroom.

Re: Please no judgement
I wouldn't. My mom had some sort of lipo on her stomach and the weight just came back anyway. So I think it was a waste of money and she went through a lot of pain.
I have always struggled with my weight as well. Currently I am on WW, I know you said it didn't work for you but maybe give it another try? I have lost 20 lbs since January, this is with very little exercise because I have limited time in my day.

Re: Please no judgement
i haven't done that procedure and i don't know of anyone with experience... but i want to share something with you.
in all the years that i've struggled with my weight, somewhere in the back of my mind i always knew something was missing.
i had gastric bypass in 2009. i lost and then i regained (not all, but some).
recently, i discovered Phit-n-Phat. she has a free podcast: Losing 100lbs with Phit-n-Phat she has a free program (the basics to her plan): phit-n-phat.com her paid-for program only opens a couple of times per year, because of that... and people waiting around, she created a free, closed FB group that you get an invite to when you do the free program.
i listen to the podcast, i follow her plan, and i'm on the free FB group.
her approach is to deal with the mental and emotional reasons women turn to food and end up overeating. it's a combination of life coach and intuitive eating.
since following this plan, i've re-lost a good amount of my weight. i've also begun to deal with all the reasons i process thoughts and feelings with food. i'm still not where i want to be, but it has made a huge change in how i view a lot of things... which then keep me from turning to food to deal with life.
i highly recommend it. if you want to get the gist of the plan/program quickly, i suggest listening to the podcast: episode 1, 2, 52, 85. then go back to the beginning and listen in order. use that with the free program... which is a 10 minute video and a notebook to print. it gives you the foundation.
if you have any questions, please ask

Keto?
I gave up carbs too b/c my holistic dr thought I was showing signs of insulin resistance. I didnt need to lose weight, but I did lose some. However, I gained way more energy, less fatigue.
carbs are the devil..lol. (they're so dang good but so bad too)

Yes keto. He does a very clean keto though. No processed foods, no soy, nothing inflammatory, no artificial sweeteners (stevia and monkfruit are ok) organic meats and vegetables. Reads every label. The improvements to his health have been transformative, even putting the weight loss aside.

Please no judgement
I recently started eating a clean Keto diet and lost 10lbs in last 2 weeks. I could never loose weight even if I didn’t eat or not matter how much I worked out. I struggle with PCOS and my insulin. I’m a huge believer now on the Keto diet and I feel the benefits already! I would maybe see the doctor. Perhaps a thyroid issue?

Congrats to him! That sounds restrictive and tough to do though for someone like me (carb addict!). What does he eat in a typical day? It sounds like it's just meat and vegetables.

It's definitely restrictive and not for everyone. However he did say that once he got past the first week or 2 and the sugar addiction it was so much easier. You no longer crave or desire carbs apparently once you regulate your blood sugar. It's the crashing and spikes in blood sugar that make you physically crave the carbs, much like a drug. He also never feels hungry. Like literally ever. It's so strange. He is now doing intermittent fasting too so he eats once a day. However before he started that he would eat eggs for breakfast with avocado and sometimes bacon. He eats big salads with chicken or steak. He makes a lot of keto casseroles and chicken dishes for dinner. All very good and I eat them as well but I sometimes add a carb for me. When we go out to dinner it's steak or chicken with veges. He eats fish.
Burger with no bun. Basically any dish in a restaurant can be modified for him to eat.
Lots of healthy fats. Nuts, cheese, etc.
He does count calories, it's not a free for all. But it's all about low low carb, moderate protein, higher fat.
