Before I go about my day, I just want to say something...
about who I am as a parent and as a person. Growing up, I always knew that I had my parents' support and love through everything in my life. Whether it was to become a professional musician or to ride my bike or get through my first break-up. So, from my upbringing, I've learned that as a parent, it's my job to be my child's biggest cheerleader in life. I'm not saying that Ava doesn't do anything wrong or that she doesn't have any short-comings. Of course she does, just like me or anyone else. But I truly believe that it's my job as a parent to cheer her on through life. So, if anyone has a problem with the the things I post about her, which I know there are a few who do, well, then I'm sorry that you're not supportive of that because every child deserves a parent who's going to be on the sidelines celebrating even their smallest of accomplishments. So, I'd really appreciate it if the negativity, whether it be on my threads, or the nasty FMs I've gotten would just stop. There's no point. I don't come on here and talk about driving fancy cars or owning a huge house or how much money my husband makes. I come on here to share my excitement about my daughter with other moms who can understand celebrating the small things in life. And to those of you who understand that, which is most of you, thank you for being a support and for helping me cheer on my daughter.

Coming from someone that did not have such a supportive and encouraging childhood, I think you are 100% correct. I agree that as parents, I should be my child(ren)'s biggest fan and the safe place that they can always land.
I'm applauded that people think it necessary to try to make others feel bad about how we choose to parent. I feel most sorry for those children as being a negative person in one aspect, definitely transcends to all aspects of that person's life...including their parenting style.
Rock on Rachel...

Never read one of your posts about aVa. But I just wanted to tell you that I think she is a princess and you are so lucky to have eachother. Your post gave me the chills and every world you said I agree with. Of course you are her #1 cheerleader. If you're not who would? It is your job. Good for you!
It's bad enough that the world we bring them up in is shady.

You're kidding, right?
This just disgusts me - really, down to the very deep pit of my stomach - that anyone would FM you to tell you that they disagree with your posts about Ava. If ever there was a mommy who so clearly devotes herself to her child, and clearly admires and admires her daughter, it is YOU, and clearly then, there is a person who posts on this website who has absolutely no freakin' clue

Rach, I'm not a parent yet and I still find myself clicking on your posts just to hear about little Ava because she makes me smile. And I hope to be as close to my children as you are to your daughter. You should be extremely proud of yourself because you are a great mother and you inspire in others to be great ones as well - myself included.

MY sentiments exactly!!!
People have sent you negative FM's?
Actually, I'm not surprised given some of the drama that people start on these boards. I'm saddened but not surprised. It's TRULY sad that it's carried over to parenting.
You are a great mom There will always be people who are just haters They have nothing better in their lives than to be negative, dramatic and two-faced. They are sad and pathetic.
Don't let them get to you.

I've always enjoyed your posts about Ava, I think it is so sweet of you to take the time to savor all the little (and not so little) things she does. It is sad that people would give you a hard time, this is the parenting board!

As a mother to be in just a few months, and someone who often lurks on the parenting board, I have to say that I think what you just wrote is absolutely beautiful and I think that your daughter is very lucky to have a mother like you.

Re: Before I go about my day, I just want to say something...
Why any one would send nasty FMs to you or someone else simply because you are proud of your child and say so is beyond me. I don't understand the logic of it. You should be proud of your child, as we all should be of our children. Big or small milestones should be acknowledged. If you or any one else posts them here, so much the better for all of us. I love reading about what all of these little ones accomplish and when they do it. Some are so sweet and some are down right hilarious. It brings me back to when my girls were little.
If some one doesn't like what you post, they shouldn't click on and read it. If they feel that you are bragging, too bad. We all brag about our children at some point. To send nasty FMs just shows a lack of class, maturity and sensitivity.
If the person or persons who sent them to you are reading this, GROW THE H*LL UP!!!

Don't let them deter you from posting about Ava. I can't believe people would send nasty FMs. I just don't understand why someone would do that.... if you don't believe/like what someone is saying on a post, just move on. Why waste your time/energy to be so nasty? If you can be so mean about someone being excited about their child then you need to be put on blast or have balls to post it for everyone to see.

Re: Before I go about my day, I just want to say something...
It's just a pattern and practice of the one thing I despise most - parents who constantly feel the need to compare and judge. I think it only speaks more to how inadequate THEY feel about themselves that they have to compare so relentlessly to what others are doing, and bring such a negative, hostile attitude.
The ones I feel MOST sorry in all of this is the children - instead of focusing SO much on what OTHERS are or are not doing, they should be focusing on all the wonderful qualities within their OWN children.

So sorry you are experiencing this ridiculousness!!! I agree with ALL of the PP that you are a great mom, who is raising a wonderful daughter. I always look forward to reading about what Ava is up to. If others don't, then they just shouldn't read it.
I don't think you are the type of person who would ever let this *really* impact you. Just keep doing what you do!
