2014 Odyssey or Sienna car seat configuration?
I know there are fans of both. I'd really like to have a convertible seat on one side, an infant seat on one side and an adult in the middle of the second row, and have access to the third row. My second option would be car seats in the middle and passenger side and adult behind driver. Is this possible in either minivan? Would the adult be very uncomfortable?(it will be me- i want to sit next to my infant ) I really wanted the Sienna, but I don't think either of these configurations would work.

I have the sienna. Is it possible, yes. Is it comfortable, no. I do what you are saying. Problem is, the middle second row is a pull in and out seat and I wouldn't call it an adult seat exactly. It kinda remind me of a stewardess seat that pulls down on a plane. I am the driver of the sienna so i have never had to sit on it but I imagine its uncomfortable. Check out both. Sienna is a nice van. I wanted it mainly for long trips but I think vans of the past were a hell of alot roomier and easier to get in and out. I almost never use the 3rd row since you really have to be a kid to get in and out.

Re: 2014 Odyssey or Sienna car seat configuration?
I have a 2012 Sienna and had two infant carriers and now two convertible carseats. (I have twins) I have one seat behind the driver and one behind the passenger. When it was the infant carriers and when the convertibles were rear facing, sitting in the middle between them wasn't terrible. It wasn't SUPER comfortable but I did it for long trips without a problem. When we reversed the convertibles to face forwards, sitting between them became a bit uncomfortable. I am taller and my shoulders feel a bit scrunched between the wider tops of the seats, but still it is do-able.
Hope this helps!

I have the odyssey 2012 which fits 3 car seats in the middle row. I had 2 infant seats (which now are convertible seats) in the middle and behind the driver. Then I had the third seat open (the right side). My third son now sits there with a backless booster.

we have a 2012 odyssey. I don't think any adult can comfortably sit in the second row with 2 car seats of any variety. is it possibly for a very short trip in sort of a clown car sort of way? yeah.
If you want to ride in the back full time, I'd put one in the 3rd row and 1 in the 2nd.
personally I'd put both in the 2nd row, pull out the middle seat for access to the 3rd row for any adult passengers, and I'd sit in the front seat.
