The Official Organic Moms Thread
Hi everyone!
I figures I would start this thread and if you wanted to add it to your notebook (On LIF) you could. I HTH anyone who wants to switch to Organic products. Feel free to add your favorite organic stuff!!!
ETA: I just wanted to add that I buy 85% of my organic stuff at WalMart, Stop & Shop and ShopRite. The other 15% is at Whole Foods, Back to Earth or Trader Joes.
The nearest Whole Foods or Trader Joe's is
over a hour from my house. I wanted to let you all know IT CAN BE DONE without going to WholeFoods (although Wholefoods is a one stop shop and that makes it easy).
Plus, Walmart's prices on organic stuff cannot be beat. Not to get into an arguement here, but I do not agree w/their business practices. However, when everything there is a lot less than WholeFoods, I have to go there to save $$$. They mix the organic stuff w/the non-organic stuff so it is more difficult to find what you are looking for...but it can be done.
Here's the list...
Cleaners, detergents, hiousehold stuff, etc: Biokleen
Ecover
Method
Imus - Greening the Cleaning
Diapers, wipes, paper goods and household cleaners: Seventh generation
Brands of Baby Wash & Shampoo: California Baby
Rainbow Reaserch Products for kids
Avalon Organics Baby line
Natraila Baby
ErbaOrganics
Baby cereal & Baby food: Healthy Times Brand
Earth's Best
Little Bug Baby Food
Happy Baby
BoboBaby
Toddler & Big kid Food: Peas of mind
Annie's Homegrown - They have spagetti O's and all sorts of yummy snacks
Ian's Natural foods
Dairy Products (Milk, yogurt, ice creams, etc.): Horizon Organic
Stonyfield Farm - Makers of YoBaby!!!
Organic Valley
For Everyone...Mom's Big kids, toddlers and babies who are eating some table food. Amy's Kitchen
Food Delivery (like a peapod type of service) Organic Direct
Cereal, Granola, Fruit Juice, Frozen Fruit, Frozen Veggies, tomao sauce, etc. Cascadian Farm
Muir Glen
Breads, Bagels, Baked goods, Sprouted Baked goods: Alvarado Street Bakery

Re: The Official Organic Moms Thread
Great thread. What is the difference between subscribing to the thread and notebooking it? If someone wants to FM me the answer so as not to hijack the thread, that would be great.

Re: The Official Organic Moms Thread
I will be making my own baby food. We just joined an organic CSA farm to make it easier and more affordable to get organic vegetables this summer.
Golden Earthworm Organic Farm
They are in Jamesport and have drop off locations all over Long Island.

Re: The Official Organic Moms Thread
love this idea!
Subscribing means you get an email any time someone posts.
Putting in notebook saves the thread in your notebook when you want to go back to it.
I make my own Organic food for DS...
Mostly shop at Trader Joes and or Stop and shop which now has sooo much organic stuff....

I think King Kullen has an organic section as well since they own Wild By Nature, but I rarely go into any place but S&S, Wild by Nature, and TJs

I LOVE this thread! Thank you!
ME TOO !! LOVE IT! And yes, it can be done without a Trader Joes, or Whole Foods. I don't have ANY organic morakets close to my home. Well, the closest is about 1/2 hour away...but still, I get most of my organic stuff from Peapod, Stop and Shop's delivery system. There's an organic market/cafe in my town but it's RIDICULOUSLY overpriced.
I LOVE all the products OP has posted. LOVE Annies!! YUM!
