3/30 QOTD: What do you do for a living? Do you like it?

I'm a HS guidance counselor. I love my profession, but I'm not always thrilled with my school.

I'm a preschool teacher and I do like it. Working with kids is a lot of fun, but it's certainly hard work keeping up with them. lol.

But even though I do like it and have no interest in going any other direction with my career, it's also kind of a pain, because it's certainly what makes me not want children anytime soon. lol. I think once i have kids of my own, I'm gonna be drained and not want to work with 'em anymore. So i dunno.

Honestly, I'd much rather be a housewife and then a stay-at-home mother.

I am an Admin Asst for a commercial fire alarm company. I do love it! I love my job, I love the environment here, and I love (most of) my coworkers! I am pretty lucky!

I'm an office manager at a commercial RE company aka I sit on LIW/LIF all day. I love the job.

I’m a social worker. I definitely do not love what I do. Definitely have been thinking a lot about a change in careers lately but after going through a Bachelors and a masters program I can’t picture myself going back to school again

I'm a mortgage broker. This is my 7th year at my job and i definitely love it. However, this is by far the toughest and most challenging market I have seen.

i am the director of an advising office at a university. i totally love what i do (even though i complain a lot) i do wish i didn't have to commute from westchester to the city everyday but then again, i feel very lucky these days to have a job!

I run the office at DH's business. I like it. I dont love it. I eventually would like to go back to school and get my masters but its not in the cards right now.

I am getting my masters in Early Childhood Special Ed. I want to go into people's home and work with their children ultimately. However I would like ot have a classroom of my own as well.

I have not started my career yet I graduate in Dec. However I have had much experience and know I will love it once I finally get started.

I do work at an insurance company now full time though to pay the bills haha

I work for a Japanese company importing and exporting chemical and organic fertilizers. I do operations and logistics work. Been doing this for 4 years, before that I did a similar job with the same company trading and doing operations work for grains and oilseeds for 11 years.
I don't love my job, just happy to have one.

Some of you know I work multiple jobs. There are things that I like and hate about each of them.

I work as an adjunct English Professor at Suffolk. It's ok I guess. There are times that I hate it, and there are times that I love it. This semester I am teaching Lit, and I have a great class of students that actually do the work and have intelligent things to say about it. Last semester I taught comp, and I had a student who random yelled out "T its" in the middle of class. So its hit or miss with this. Not sure if its really what I want to be doing with myself, but I spent so much damn time getting my Masters and getting things published, that I feel like it would be a waste to quit. I'll probably just teach one class a semester, this way I can still tell ppl I'm a professor, which is probably the best thign abuot the job.

I also work in an office doing medical billing. I've been here 16 years. I like most of the ppl that I work with, and its easy work.

I also help run a medical billing company at home. Its great to work at home, but sometimes I feel like I'm ALWAYS working.

I also sing at St Marys in East Islip. I wish I could do this full time.

I am a Senior Rep for a Medical Device company. I work daily with Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons, travel a ton selling our products at trade-shows and in offices.

I deff like my job, some days I love it, some days I loathe it

I'm a Contracts Administrator / Director of Project Development for a General Contractor/Construction Management Office. I absolutely LOVE my job and LOVE my boss. They treat me great, my hours are great 7:30 - 3:30 and when we're not swamped with work, I get to chill on LIF with you fine ladies.

I run the marketing department for my company

I love what I do but I am thinking of going for my doctorate so I can teach college- I am teaching a summer class to see how I like it

I used to work in the magazine industry, for a very popular women's magazine, but the industry is hurting really bad and I, among others was laid off in January. The job had a lot of perks, like getting high end beauty products for free and taking clients to amazing restaurants and shows but some of the ppl in the industry are horrendous to deal with ( aka Devil Wears Prada), so no... i didnt love it. My true passions are wriiting and acting...wish i could make a decent living doing it tho!

student...graduating with my bsw in may so i hope to be in the field by september.

i work parttime for a defensive driving/driver safety company and after 5 yrs i hate it!

I work for an advertising agency on the account side. I work with some really great people which always balances out the really crazy clients!

I am a special education teacher at a middle school on long island. I love it, but I come home drained very often
