I don't think Jack will ever sleep straight through the night to be honest. I just have a feeling that he won't. Chat Icon

You nerd, of course he will! I didn't think Christopher would last month when I saw you and here we are with him sleeping from 8pm-4am, quick bottle, then down til 9am!

Re: 4.5 months and STILL not sleeping through the night....

i went through the EXACT same thing last month when ds was also 4.5 months. what we did was have my dh get up with ds every time so he would get used to the idea that when he wakes up he won't get boob. it actually worked and by the 3rd night he didn't wake for boob. BUT now he wakes b/c he's rolling or has gas.

i had dh on night duty for the 1st time in 5 1/2 months last week so that i could have a full night sleep. ieven though i woke up at 6 am it was the most refreshing night ever! i highly recommend it when your dd gets over the boob thing.

Re: 4.5 months and STILL not sleeping through the night....

I can relate!!!!

Lainie will be 7 months old on the 31st and she still does not sleep through the night. Infact, I only had a total of FOUR nights since she was born where she slept through the night. Some nights it is every hour...a few nights (just a few) it was every 20 minutes! She just started to sleep on her belly (just started the last few weeks) and she only wakes now about 3 or 4 times. I am used to it by now but I kept on questioning, when is it going to stop?

I am with you sista! Hang in there!

Re: 4.5 months and STILL not sleeping through the night....

oh Amy, we are going through the same thing... I thought when DS started solids he would sleep much better but that was a huge disappointment (before starting cereal, ds ate 5-9oz every 3 hours, so he was constantly hungry)... anyways, right now he goes to sleep 7-8pm, wakes up around midnight to eat and then again 4-5am... he is sleeping on his tummy as well, sometimes he fusses, sometimes he just moves so much in his sleep that he wakes himself up... just like you I get up and stroke his hair and thats enough but other times he will scream for food.... I guess some babies are just better sleepers than others Chat Icon

DS is 6 months and he is also still not sleeping through the night... He has his good nights, but they are rare. He has his pretty bad nights too... Most are in-between... Chat Icon

Hang in there!!! It has to get better!! Take comfort in knowing that you are not alone!

I got you all beat.. DD is 17 months and still wakes AT LEAST 4-5 times a night. There are MANY nights where it's 7-8 times. Last week, one night, she awoke more than 10x I lost count!! Chat Icon Her molars were coming in though. I haven't had a good night's sleep ever since she was born, haha, is that funny or sad I don't even know anymore.

Re: 4.5 months and STILL not sleeping through the night....

We had the same baby at 4.5 months. She did not start consistently sleeping through the night until about 6 months and then we had many setbacks. All I can say is hang in there. You story is so similar to oursChat Icon
