CVS and or Amnio

If you had either of the 2, did your insurance cover it fully? I have GHI. I know when were going to do PGD, they were giving us a problem with the lab we were using. Did your Dr.s offic do the tesing inhouse or did they have to send it to a special lab? If they sent it out, do you know what lab did the testing?

I had both done. (turns out my placenta has some abnormal cells, so I got the amnio and the baby doesn't have the abnormal cells)

CVS is only done by a few specialists right now. I went to Winthrop and was very happy, but I hear excellent things about NSUH as well.

amnios can be done by OB (mine does them), but I was already in the care of Wintrop/Perinatal Assoc. so they did it for me.

My OB also says that if you are considering termination, Winthrop and NSUH won't do it, unless you have the tests through them. That way they are not see as abortion clinics.

I have decent insurance, but do pay 10% coinsurance until $300. I've paid $200 ish to my OB so far and Winthrop just sent me a bill for $75. I'm not sure if that maxes out my deductible or if it was only $75 (for both CVS and amnio PLUS 2 full anatomy scans and a level II)

As for labs...my CVS went to Tampa (I guess not many labs analyze it yet). My amnio went to a NYC lab.
