7 month old sleep/nap schedule

DS never had a schedule except for bedtime around 8-9 and would wake around 6am.

Naps were when he wanted. it is still that way except for daycare days where it has to be on their schedule.

DD is 6.5 months and has 3 naps.

She takes a morning nap at 9am, and it ranges anywhere from 1 - 2 hours. She then takes two cat naps, around 30 min each, at 1ish and 5ish.

She goes to bed at 8:15 and sleeps through to 7am.

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

TT doesn't have a nap schedule.
When she was 7 months and younger she was napping twice a day at DC. At almost a year she naps once a day there for about 2 hours. When she's home she takes 2 naps. Both are 2+ hours. The only schedule sleep time she has in bedtime which is no later than 8:30pm

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

At that age DS napped 1.5-2 hrs in the AM and then about 1 hr in the PM, with a full night's sleep from 8pm-7am.

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

yesterday was the first day we paid attention. in efforts to get ds to nap well, dd napped TOO well.
dd napped 3 hours
ds 1.5 hours
(this is cumulative, throughout the day)

then i started nursing them to sleep at 7:30pm . they passed out after nursing for 15 min, then woke up about 2 times each between then and 10:30pm. had to be nursed to soothe them.

ds was up around 3 and 4- stayed in bed with us
dd was up around 3 and 5, got in bed with us at 5

today ds had a 2 hour nap this late morning which is typically unheard of.

for the past 4 months they have been in a constant state of milestones and teething btw...

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

My DD is 8-months-old and basically has two schedules. If it's a daycare day, she naps for about 20 minutes at 1:30pm. Then after we pick her up at around 3:00pm she comes home and passes out for about two hours.

If it's a non daycare day, she naps at approx. 11am for about two hours and then for another hour or so at about 3:30pm.

She's always in bed by 8pm and doesn't get up until 8am.

Lately, she gets three bottles/nursing sessions a day (it used to be four, but she just isn't interested in her late afternoon bottle anymore).

She gets 10oz. at about 8:15am, 8oz. about 3:00pm and then nurses at bedtime. She eats 4tblspns of oatmeal (mixed with two ounces of formula) and 4oz. of a fruit or veggie at about 10:30am. Then for dinner she has the same at about 6:00pm.

I have no idea. I dont know how to calculate how she sleeps at night if she wakes up. She wakes to nurse but isnt really awake, kwim? All i know is they need 14 hours total.

Just realized OP was only asking for sleep/nap schedule. Duh! I read it as sleep/eat schedule. But of course now I'm wondering what everyone else's 7 and 8 month olds are eating and if I'm over feeding mine!

My DS is eating like yours. LOL. 4T oatmeal+2oz milk, plus fruit in the am, half a yogurt for lunch, then the oatmeal and a veg again at night. We follow the schedule given by our ped. i think DS would eat even more if we let him!

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

honestly, I wouldn't stress over the amount of hours of sleep they get per 24 hours. not all babies are "by the book". dd has marched to the beat of her own drum since in the wombChat Icon Chat Icon and I've learned to just go with the flow. by the book tells you they "need" 14 hours a day, but if your baby is getting 13 hours and is happy/thriving, who cares? kwim?
that said... dd is 8 months old, but she's been on the same schedule since at least 7 months...
she goes to bed at 6:30pm. she wakes for a bottle anywhere from 4:45-5:45, on average, then goes back down (after being up 30-45min) until 7-7:45ish.
she takes 2 naps a day, one at around 10:45 and one at around 2:45. sometimes they are 30 minutes, sometimes they are 90 minutes. i'd say on *average* she naps a total of 2 hours per day. but like, today, I put her down for her 2nd nap and she rolled around playing, kicking, babbling for an hour and never went to sleep. so she was awake from 12:25 until 6:35Chat Icon it is what it is. if she's tired, she'll sleep a little extra tomorrow morning or during naps tomorrow. it all evens out.Chat Icon

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

DS is 8.5 months, but his schedule has been the same for at least 2 months:

7:30/8:00 wake
10:15ish nap (60-90 minutes)
3:00ish (nap (60-90 minutes)
8:30 bed

usually wakes 1-2 times during the night

This exactly except my son does not sleep through the night. He wakes up every 2 hours or so. Chat Icon

Re: 7 month old sleep/nap schedule

That sounds normal. When dds do nap right it's about 3/4 hrs total per day. They're I'd fighting and kicking and screaming to get there though.
