Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
I got mine 5.5 months pp. I knew it was my period because I had stopped bleeding around 3 months before and also it was accompanied by terrible cramps.
It is unlikely that you will ovulate and get your period while you are still bleeding but it is possible so make sure to used BC!

Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
I bled PP for just about 6 weeks (it tapered off to mostly spotting after 2-3 weeks). The bleeding stopped for 2 weeks and then I got AF at 8 weeks PP.
My OB did say that some women ovulate while still bleeding PP before getting another period.

Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
Just got my first period after having DS on New Years Day. 10 weeks after I had him. So far it has been like every other period before I got pregnant.

Got it 5 weeks PP. You'll know because it's the most brutal and awful period you will ever get. Definitely different than the regular PP bleeding.

Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
I bled for about 6 weeks PP and got my first period 11.5 months PP. I actually wasn't sure it was my period, it was pretty light and lasted for 10 days and then came back 7 days later and was medium to heavy for 3 days. I talked to my OB and she said it was because I was nursing and using the mini-pill. I was afraid I was PG

Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
i bled for 2-3 weeks. pretty heavy for the first week and then it got lighter after that. by thanksgiving (i delivered 10/22) i had a very short period..3 days. I figured it was my period b/c i hadnt bled for a while before that.
then nothing after that until yesterday when AF finally showed.

Re: A little personal..Question about getting period after delivery..
I bled for 5 wks pp- bleeding for 2 or so- the rest was spotting. Then absolutely nothing for a week. 6wks pp to the DAY and I got AF in full force. I knew it was AF because it was beyond heavy (sorry, TMI ahead- 1 super tampon & pad an hour!!!) and bright red. It wasn't at all like the PP bleeding I had which was light and brownish towards the end.

I wish I knew that ahead of time... I seriously thought something was wrong with me. I was absolutely terrified
