Thank you all so much for following my girl's story
Usually I only share this kind of stuff with "chicken people" it's great to know other people think its cool too.
And on to the not so great update, we have completed day 22 & NOTHING.
Each day that passes now greatly reduces the chance of Sunny's baby hatching successfully. I'm going to let her keep the egg until Saturday.
I candled it again quickly tonight & I swear I see movement, DH was with me & he said he couldn't see it but he admitted that the egg does look different over the light.
I know there are much bigger things happening in everyone's lives right now, but if you guys could spare a little LIF  power, I'd appreciate it.
I'll just be so bummed for her if it doesn't work out, she wants it so badly.
I'll update in the morning.

I can't believe how worried I am for an egg!
ETA: My son's class has chicks that they are hatching and everytime he comes home to give me news he is excited and breathless and shining. They have 12 eggs and I think 8 have hatched in the last day or 2. Everytime he talks to me about it, I think of you!

Sunny has a spot under egg where she plucked a few of her feathers out so the egg will touch her skin.
That's amazing  The things Mommies do for their babies.
As for names, I'm partial to Francesca. When Rusty proposed, he planned the entire day in NYC, and we ate dinner at a restaurant called 'Cesca. It is named after the daughter of the owner. And my father's name and brother's name is Francis and their nicknames are Fran, Frank.
Just think... If it's a boy, it's easy to change to Francisco. 
I'm sending positive vibes Sunny's way!

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is there any way you can "start the process", like inducing labor??

its friday afternoon, I just checked the egg & NOTHING
I just don't think its going to happen, I think my poor girl sat & sat & waited & waited for nothing 
I'm planning on leaving the egg with her till Saturday but honestly I don't think there will be a chick. I'm trying to stay positive
The egg still doesn't make a sound or move & there is no sign of any pip.
There is no way to move it along, cracking the shell could kill the baby. I will open the shell tomorrow just to see if I can determine what went wrong.
Rich & I decided that if we don't get a live chick out of this egg we are not going to buy Sunny a baby. I'll just try to "break her Broodiness" and let her get back to the flock.
Our nieces are coming for their annual stay at our house in July. Rich said he'd like to buy an incubator & try to have a few babies hatch while the kids are here.
I have a business dinner tonight, so I'll be going out but I'll update later if there is good news or for sure tomorrow.
It has been so nice to have my LIF friends following this with me. I thank you all again for your encouragement!!!!
Maybe Sunny's baby will just be a little slow coming into the world

just got an email from a very experienced chicken lady
She swears she's had healthy babies hatch under Momma's at day 25 & 26, she says I should leave it till MONDAY!!!!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, maybe there is hope for Liana!!!!!!!

its saturday morning, i just took Sunny off the nest. She hasn't been off at all since tuesday or wednesday. Its going to be so hot today I wanted her to eat & drink. I candled it again and it sure looks different but honestly it doesn't look like a full sized chick packed in there ready to break out.....I'm trying to think positive anyway since I got that email yesterday.
I did read on my chicken message board a post from someone that had candling like mine & the eggs never hatched. When she opened the eggs there were partially developed chicks with no sign of life. The side of me that is dedicated to animal husbandry wants to open the egg, the other side of me just wants to throw it away.
As for Sunny, she was broody last summer too & sat on nothing for four weeks. A few days after she's off the nest she'll "forget" & the hormone that allows her to produce eggs will start again & she'll go back to laying & hanging out with her sisters.
I'm so sad about this though, I guess I'll never be a good farmer.
I'll continue the updates.....
