When someone says they are a Trump supporter, I don't really need to more. It speaks for itself.
Many Trump supporters feel the exact same way about HRC supporters.

No I know but he doesn't take even the slightest criticism well and I don't think it's too far fetched to think he would do something catastrophic in retaliation. The media won't go away if he's elected, ya know? It'll only get worse and they'll be in his life, recording every word even more.

I can't disagree with you but for me, it is not enough to sway me to HRC because there are too many other issues that are important to me.

I am not tying to be mean but you really can just ignore all the racist sexist and dumb stuff he said?
You really don't think he is spreading racism and hatred amongst the american people?
You just put a blind eye to all that and think he should be the face of the american people.
I am not HRC person. I am however an anti-trump at all cost and I just can't understand how his supporters are ignoring this about him.
If anything comes out of this election and especially if Trump comes into office I firmly believe we need to put some more requirements on who is actually allowed to run for president.

YES and trust me I appreciate so much that we can have an actual DISCUSSION on the issues even if we disagree. Instead of the usual thread where whatever someone says about Trump the replies are all nasty and hateful.

Not ignoring it at all. But actions speak louder than words. Just because he has said things about certain women that are upsetting, he is an equal opportunity insulter - he has something to say about everyone. I do not think he hates women. He has employed, promoted and generously paid many women throughout his organization. HRC certainly wasnt offended as a woman when she accepted his donations in the past.
As for him single handedly spreading racism and hatred...I think the American people are doing a pretty good job of that all by themselves. I dont give Trump that much credit.
Listen I never said he was perfect. I do NOT agree that we should ban all Muslims because of a few bad eggs. But I also dont agree all cops are racist because of a few bad eggs. Or that all gun owners are dangerous because of a few bad eggs.
He isnt my first choice for a Republican candidate. Or my 100th choice. But he is apparently the only choice.

Without trashing either candidate - which is very easy to do but not the OP's question - I will go out on a limb and list a few of Trump's views that appeal to me:
1. Decrease foreign spending and refocus money on America! People are constantly raving about how other countries have "free" healthcare and "free" college and yearlong paid maternity leave, etc. Yeah well maybe those countries can afford it because the USA is the one spending billions defending them. Maybe we would have those things too if other countries contributed their fair share to the pot. Hillary even said in her speech she plans to continue defending everyone.
2. If there is any possible chance of reversing the nightmare that has been Obamacare, Im all over it. My premiums and deductibles have tripled and it is laughable its called the "affordable" care act. I am all for not excluding based on pre-existing conditions but the ACA went way, way beyond that with all its pork fat. Hillary is pro-ACA.
3. Government has stuck its neck far too much up the ass of private businesses. Period. Its impossible to start a successful business due to all the requirements and forced costs and so less people do it. And then people want to know why nothing is made in the USA. Yes Im aware Trump does business with China. However I do feel he believes in less government intrusion into small businesses.
4. Immigration reform. Come on, any way you slice it, theres a problem. Do I think building a wall is an answer? No. Do I think he can actually build a wall? No. But the first step is recognizing there is a problem. Hillary sort of tiptoes around this.
I just dont believe in the "tax and spend" mentality. And I dont believe in a nanny state. I think as a country we should give people the TOOLS they need to succeed and then LET THEM succeed! We all know the story about giving a man a fish vs teaching a man to fish.
And lastly, I do not think it is in any way a good thing to have mostly liberal SCOTUS justices. Nor to have them all be conservative. We NEED to have justices representing all areas across the spectrum. To hear each other out in order to best enforce the Constitution, rather than rewrite it.
Thank you for sharing your reasons. It's refreshing to see some concrete reasons for a change.
Yes, this is what I've been looking for - someone to give a well reasoned response to why they would vote for Trump. Thank you

I don't have to justify why I am voting for him to anyone on here. I don't ask you why you are voting for Hillary...nor do I care. It's your choice. I don't bash you for your decision. So leave ours alone. Enough said!!!!!!!

Holy crap -just calm down. Of course you don't have to justify anything you do. This was a legitimate question put out there by someone who is truly interested in trying to understand people who thing differently than she does. This is a real question that many (including myself) have had, and there have been some very well thought out answers on here, that some of us appreciate. If you don't want to answer, then don't. No need to get all twisted.

I know there are...but there are more that will respond with negatively . so I am not going to make a long list if why I am voting for him only for people to bash me.

Re: A question for Trump supporters
ChilisWife stated some good points on her reasons for voting for him. I do agree with some but Trump is not the guy to fix any of this. I honestly feel he will make it worst. There's nothing presidential about him. He's a joke and is making us Americans look like we're the biggest idiots in this planet. If it were a different candidate with some of his points, I think I would have voted Republican. I do not like HRC but considering we only have 2 options, then I vote for her. I don't think either one of these candidates will last more than 1 term or will get anything done. So let choose someone who's not going to make us go to war and will keep us at flow until the next election.

so then why even bother making any statement on this thread at all. This is the most single annoying answer to see; I don't have to justify my answer yay we all know you don't people are just curious to why you would want to vote for him and honestly yes though I am 100% against him and don't understand how anyone will vote from him I would love for someone tell me what he is saying that he will do that will make other vote for him and how he will do it so maybe I can understand (though in the long run even if he is saying good things I will never get pass the hatred he spreads) like other posters said. And who cares what others think if you confident in your opinion then why get bother what other thinks especially people over the internet who you probably don't know and should give two shits less if they approve your choice.

Re: A question for Trump supporters
There have been several really good contributions to this thread by people who choose to vote for Trump. For once, it seems like a really nice exchange of information which is what most of the more vocal Clinton supporters have been asking for.

but this response is inflammatory and flat out nasty. Your responses on political threads are almost always hostile. It's not necessary! No one wants you to justify anything, but this kind of response contributes to threads going down in flames. Please don't do it.

First she's against same sex marriage then she's for it. She says what ever suits the vote. But you worry about Trumps words?
Sorry, but you're inaccurate here. Originally, Hillary said she would leave it to the states, and if the state supported it, then she would do. Separation of state and federal powers.
She was never OPPOSED to it.
I can't stand either candidate - but I will say that Hillary flip-flopped on this. In various speeches from 2002-2004 she defines marriage as between a man and a woman only. She was definitely against it at one point and now that it's gotten so much support, she's for it.
[
This doesnt speak to my initial post about Trump but I just wanted to say that it's possible that her position legitimately changed over time. When DH and I first met in late 2002 he didnt believe in gay marriage. We would debate it over and over in the dining hall and over time I wore him down, he met gay friends in college, and he changed his position after a few years. He is now 100% in favor of gay rights, gay marriage, the works. A lot can happen over 12-14 years. It doesn't necessarily make you a flip flopper, it means sometimes you are open to new and progressive ideas.

Re: A question for Trump supporters
For me, I could never vote for Trump but he does have ONE 'plan', or at least, he's spoken about incentives for businesses to keep jobs in the United States. That's something I've wanted to see for a long time, so if he's elected, after I finish crying (because I will, I won't lie) I will hold onto hope that he actually does something on that front.
I saw a chart yesterday on FB that placed Trump, Clinton and Johnson next to each other with a list of their stances and I have to say Johnson looks appealing to me (not enough for me to vote for him though, but maybe another time). I truly wonder if this is the year a third party gets its 15%, because there are so many people who hate both Trump and Clinton and really can't in good conscience pick either of them.
I'm fascinated and horrified by this election year.

Re: A question for Trump supporters

I dont know I think people are fed up with status quo to the point they don't really care about what childish antics Trump does or says... I think he's a buffoon but I don't support most democratic policies so what choice do I really have? Vote Trump, don't vote, waste a vote on a third party? To be honest, I am still flip flopping between the three options and I'm really not sure what Trump can do or say to lose my vote yet, sometimes I think he has already has lost my vote, others I'm not so sure..... I guess time will tell???? If and once I hit that point when im 100% certain I will not vote for him I'm happy to let you know why. But i thibk it will be a game time decision....Being a Republican really sucks right now for me. I know most of you are democrats on this board so you probably can't appreciate it but a lot of us who do not support HRCs and the Democratic agenda were dealt a really ****** hand this election and we have to make a decision one way or another that will potentially shape our country and affect the future of our families and children. The thing is, nothing said on this board sways me one way or another because the ONLY thing I'm certain of is HRC will NOT get my vote in November, never. If Trump, Johnson, or no one will is still TBD.
Anyway hope that helps.
Thank you for your reply. I really do appreciate the tough situation you are in and have been talking frequently at length with a colleague of mine who is a lifelong Republican, worked for a Republican congressman, born and raised and still lives in the south, etc. She was willing to vote for Kasich but said she could not bring herself to vote for the others and would hold her nose and vote for Hillary. She is hoping that this election will shake things up and that the Republican party will reinvent itself without a lot of the tea party rhetoric and will go back to true conservative principles.
I was talking to her yesterday about what I would do if the tables were turned... what if Trump was the democratic nominee and it was vote for him or... [insert "establishment" republican candidate]. Assuming Trump really did support the platforms I find important (which it's hard to say if that is truly the case for most republicans and Trump) but was Trump, it would be a really tough balance. I think I would have started off supporting him anyway, hoping that he would choose people who are knowledgeable and informed and that we would be OK and re-elect someone else in four years, but as this election has gone on and he has done more and more horrifying things I think in the end I would likely cross party lines and vote for the Republican candidate. I am fearful of the repercussions of having someone like Trump as the leader of our country regardless of political party/platform. That's what led me to post this question... if he keeps getting "worse" and "worse" is there finally a tipping point where you would say, OK, that's it, I just cant support him anymore? For some I see no -- they will vote for him no matter what. Others are back on the fence or decided they can no longer support him. It's interesting to see

Does it concern me? Sure. Of course. But its not like right now all the world leaders are sitting around singing cumbaya and Trump is going to come in and ruin everything. The world is in really bad turmoil. I am not worried that some world leader is going to nuke us because Trump makes a comment. Im just not. Trump has dealt with and negotiated with tons of different types of people throughout his life. I dont think he will be as crass when it counts. I think a lot of what he says is reactive bc the media despises him and is all over him constantly and endlessly.
I actually worry that he will really have a negative impact on our relations with other countries and his position on muslims, mexicans, etc will incite more home-grown terrorist attacks, regardless of whether he wins but even moreso if he does. I hope I am wrong.

He just kicked a crying baby out of a rally
LOL I just watched the clip. He was joking.
The headline quotes him like this:
Trump: "Get that baby out of here!"
So I watched the clip. He first said, don't worry about that baby crying, I love babies. What a beautiful baby etc....
He continues to talk and the baby cried again and he said; "Actually i was just kidding, get that baby out of here." In a joking way.
But funny how they spin the headline.
