We are looking at all types but are mostly seeing Capes- which I'm not a big fan of.
I'm trying to keep an open mind so I'll look at anything in our price range with 3+ bedrooms.

well florida is diffferent than LI when it comes to house styles.....the things that are important to us are a ceratin location, open floor plan, decent kitchen, 4 bedrooms, and relatively new construction...
one thing you cant change about a house is the layout (unless you plan on doing lots of reno) so that was important to us - the flow - the way we felt in it....the style of the outside of the home, althought important wasn't a deal breaker...

I was never a fan of Hi-Ranches, Capes, or Ranches.
I always knew I wanted a colonial. I like splits - but I prefer colonials!

I refused to look at a split ranch or a raised ranch. I also wasn't so hot on capes, but didn't rule them out completely because of the extension factor.
We ended up with a tudor and I'm very happy.

We have just started looking at houses and are very open to most styles. The only style we are not interested in is a cape.

my main requirment is location
there is only 1 style of house I don't like- and that's a high ranch- but depending on the location- I might make an exception
