Another LI woman driving and talking on her cell phone story
I just need to vent. I just picked up DS and I was coming down Merrick Rd. in Massapequa. Some woman with a kid in the car was talking on her cell phone and pulled out in front of me from a parking lot without even looking.
I had to swerve to miss hitting them. I beeped at her. She then has the nerve to speed up next to me, and both her and the kid are cursing at me, giving me the finger, going on and on. Total ridiculousness.
My window was open while we were at the light so I told her to pay attention and get off her cell phone. They were still carrying on like crazy people so I just gave them the "peace" sign and kept going on my way. I see this all.the.time though and it makes me crazy.
It also was appaling because I could tell the kid had Down's syndrome and this was perfect model behavior she was setting for her.

I never understand when people make a traffic mistake (and we all do) they start cursing and yelling.
Just say sorry, give a wave and be on your way. I really can't stand that entitlement attitude around here!

This is what always crosses my mind about where we live. But than I can't imagine LI is the only place that has people like this.
When she was carrying on so with the kid in the car (and the kid copying her behavior) I also thought about that thread on LIF awhile back where some poster came on for support because she wanted (or tried?) to fight some strange men who blocked her and her baby in the 7-11 parking lot. 
(I may have the exact details mixed up though!).

I was trying to merge onto the highway last week and this guy SPED UP to not let me in .. but I didn't realize that so I tried to merge anyway which caused him to have to slow down suddenly and he honked at me and then yelled "MORON" out the window  ... People are nuts.

ITA!!! I was out with my sis last week and we were going straight through an intersection but some lady on the phone made a left and cut us off. She gave us the finger. Really? We had the right of way. You are breaking the law. We get the finger?

LI isn't the only place like this. Dallas is the same. People are SO HOLIER THAN THOU. They think they are entitled, invincible, about it all. It drives me nuts.
For instance, yesterday, I was in a fast food parking lot. I was coming off the main street, I had the right of way. A man coming from the other direction. HE RAN THE STOP SIGN just to cut me off to get in the drive through.
I pulled up next to him and before I could say anything, he gives me the finger and says "F-YOU" with his 12 year old kid in the car. I politely told him that he was setting a horrible example for his child by first running a stop sign, second for talking like that without provocation and third for disregarding OTHER human life! (There were children in the parking lot!)
I hope I shamed the helll out of him. Unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence here. Even in church parking lots.
