anxious about picking DS from daycare--is this normal
So today is my second day at work and I miss him so much during the day and then as it gets close to 5pm I get NERVOUS---like, is he goign to be hungry, cranky, tired, or playful and smiley? I just don't know what I"m walking into and bringing home--he is just 12 weeks and we have no real "routine".
I'm scared that this is not a normal feeling for a mom as she picks her DC up from daycare after being away all day. Is this normal or do I need help??
He's has always done great at day care--we had a few "run throughs" so I know he is in great hands...just nervous.

Re: anxious about picking DS from daycare--is this normal
MY DH always did the pickup just b/c I was commuting from NY To PA and schedule wise I would never make it..
but DH would call me when he would get DS and I would always be like "is he ok? is he hungry? how did he do today?? LOL..like he wasnt going to be fine right?
I would call daycare 2x a day b/c I was so far away it was my only connection to him. I think his teachers secretly thought I was nuts..LOL.

Totally normal, I remember that feeling! It is because you don't have a routine yet, but it will come!

Re: anxious about picking DS from daycare--is this normal
i would p/u ds on mondays from daycare and i felt like i couldnt get out of work or get there fast enough
On thursday dh would pick ds up usually around 5:30 bc i worked till 8. At 5pm i would start figgiting and getting antsy calling dh asking where he was, if he was close to daycare giving him instructions on what to do with ds, making sure he got home asap and fed him dinner etc etc...
i was so obsessed that things had to be ready asap for ds after dh picked him up from daycare that i made his dinner on thursday mornings b4 going to work and leaving it in the refridgerator. i didnt want ds waiting for dh to cook his dinner
a bit obsessive - yea - and it never got better for me but i have a typical type A personality
