Any other suggestions? (RE: eye exams)
I just found out I don't have vision insurance anymore. I desperately need glasses and contacts. This pregnancy has drastically changed my vision.
I've called Walmart and Costco for exam prices. Walmart is $135 for both, Costco $110 (I need Toric lenses so I have to pay more).
Any other suggestions for where I can call? I need the cheapest possible price.

Check with your medical insurance. Most policies cover eye exams.

I was going to say the same thing. You will need to pay for your own glasses, but once you have a prescription, you can shop around for the best price. For glasses, check out Warby Parker (online) - they have awesome deals.

Once you have your prescription, order your glasses through www.39dollarglasses.com!
I've gotten a couple of pairs of glasses from them and for either $39 or $59 (for some designs), you can get a COMPLETE pair of eyeglasses. You have the option of upgrading a few features if you would like to, but if you just want a basic pair, you can really get one for $39!

Unfortunately, most coverages don't cover contact lenses. The cheapest I have found recently was at wise eyes because they give you teh exam and a trial pair and I think it was 115. I need toric lenses too!

Re: Any other suggestions? (RE: eye exams)
DH needed glasses badly...his broke about 3 years ago and his eyes have been getting worse and worse. He has no optical but we finally broke down and decided to just pay out of pocket for it.
We went to Cohen's in the mall. It was $40 for the exam when you purchased glasses, and they had $99 frames to chose from. It came out to $139.95 total. They are pretty basic frames but hey, at least he can see and his headaches are improving!
They also offer a deal for contacts.

I just had an exam at Costco, it was only $85. They would charge you more bc of your prescription?

There's only ine day left but there's a living social deal at Macy's vision - $58 for an exam and $225 credit towards a pair glasses.

Your eyes will continue to change with pregnancy. Unfortunately I would wait until after to get anything.

Wise eyes. My job changed insurance last year and dropped our vision. I called around and they had best price for exam and lenses start at 29. I was in massapequa then and went to that location on sunrise and they had my glasses ready in an hour.

I agree with the other poster who said check with your medical insurance. I see an opthomologist and he is covered through my medical. I get a prescriotion from him and then get glasses (through my vision henefit, but thats when you would look around for the best price)
I know someone who ordered glasses from eyebuydirect.com and is happy. They cost her about $45 !!!!
