Any plans for Valentine's Day?
I got a little something for the kids and a card for DH and that's about it at home.
But, someone in the office is really into Valentines day and there are treats everywhere.

Cards and treats for kids. Going out to dinner.
I have always enjoyed the day since as the days go by so fast and sometimes we lose sight of how we feel for each other and don't show it.
Having the day carved out for all of us actually helps you stop and appreciate it all.

Any plans for Valentine's Day?
We went away this past weekend and we are going away again this weekend. I am making his favourite dinner tonight and we have chocolates and Macarons to share for after.

We're going out on Saturday to celebrate three years since chemo ended for me...now THAT is a big deal to us

I always cook a fancy dinner, I got ny strip steaks, and I made homemade lobster and crab raviolis! We try to have a romantic date night at home after we put the kids to bed, and I do a fun dinner and dessert for the kids and we got them a couple small gifts. I love Valentines Day, we don't make a big deal about it, but it's nice to be extra cheesy sometimes!

Any plans for Valentine's Day?
Got my teeth cleaned this morning just in time to pig out on chocolate all day! Not much special but I'll make a semi nice dinner, got dh and the kids some treats, made chocolate dipped strawberries yesterday.
Dh and I always go out the week after vday which was when we had our first date. Much quieter and you're not limited to an overpriced, scaled down menu.

We went out to dinner this past Saturday night for Valentine's Day.
We always go to our favorite steakhouse either the Saturday befor or after. My husband is a tax accountant so he's really busy with work during the week.
I made chocolate covered strawberries and heart shaped brownies for tonight.

He literally just texted me so we could figure out what to make and we're calling around to butchers  I did get the kids little treats and I baked blondies for him. I think we're going out to dinner on Friday which we'd have normally done anyway.
Clearly we put a ton of thought into this

As far as kids go im a terrible mom. I gave them some skittles and a mug with a small stuffed animal. No baking or heart shaped pizza or pancakes lol
I have done it before.
Im no fun now and a bit of a scrooge when it comes to hallmark holidays! Its all excess and waste to me!

Yeah, I can't believe that I'm two and a half years out of treatment entirely (surgeries and radiation followed the end of chemo)
These anniversaries are really important to me. <3

DH is in NC for work this week. We just sent a Happy Valentines Day text to one another this morning
I gave the kids a box of chocolates this morning and DS got a Valentines note in his lunch with a heart shaped sandwich.

I'm making heart shaped raviolis for dinner and I made heart shaped cookies for dessert. . We got the girls cute little gifts. Dh and I got a bottle of our favorite wine we will have over Dinner and we get each other cards. I like Valentine's day because it's just an easy day no real pressure.

We went to a steak house on the water and took a stroll on the beach afterwards. We moved to FL recently and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g to walk around on the beach in February!

Today is also our 7 year wedding anniversary so we um brought in Shake Shack watched TV and that was it. We don't do cards or gifts. It's really just another day even being our anniversary.

this is our second valentime's day. i think we can officially cross the line to not needing it any more.
in the meantime...
i got him a mancrate - caffeine fiend. SO got a bigger kick out of the little pry bar that came with it... because the sunday, we walked an entire flea market looking for one he needs one for work.
he got me stuff from my favorite local yarn store. he got me a yarn bag set and a skein of 100% cashmere.
next year, we'll order pizza and call it done

We stayed home. I cooked dinner and he got me amazing seats to the Bronx tale on bdway and hand selected a dozen diff candies that each have a special meaning To us.
On our way home he said "I hope this is us isn't on tonight. I don't want Jack to make every guy look lame, especially on vday"
