Any way to get DC to sleep later?
DS is 4 and 1/2 months. He sleeps from 8:00 to 5-5:30 straight.
I know that's good, but I'm kinda greedy and would love to sleep a little bit later....
He gets up hungry. I feed him, but he never goes right back to sleep.
Anyway I can get him to sleep longer?

Try putting him to bed earlier....surprisingly, most of the time, when they are young, say under 2 or so, they earlier you put them down, the better they sleep. The later you put them down, the earlier they get up. Also, try a few extra ounces right before bed, to keep them full longer.
You may just have an early riser though, I did and it stunk!

What do you do when DS wakes up at 5? Do you treat him like it's time to wake up? Sydnie gets up then too but only for a diaper change and a bottle. She goes back down. Try putting him back down, even if he fusses a bit. Sounds like you have a good sleeper though.

Re: Any way to get DC to sleep later?
that is great that he is sleeping that long at 4 1/2 months, I had to wait until 6 months! DS is also an early riser, anywhere from 5-6 am lately however I change him and he has a bottle and goes back down for a couple of hours. I try to keep everything really quiet in the morning so he is still in a sleepy state. I don't turn any lights on etc.

I have tried feeding him and putting him back down, but he only starts crying...
I guess I'll try it again...

My ped suggested CIO...we did...sounds crazy, but it worked.
He was getting up every 2 hours before that.
I guess it doesn't help that DH picks him up once and plays with him, because he leaves for work and wants to see him.

I hear you about DH wanting to see him in the morning before work. Does DH always pick him up in the morning to play with him when he is waking around 5am?

No...usually he moves around in his crib around 5 or so...by 5:30 he will cry and fuss and want to eat....

Is your DC still getting up early? or did it get better with time?
