anyone else's newborn hate the swaddle?
Noah absolutely hates being swaddled! As soon as I swaddle him he tries to wiggle out!

Oh, that is so Chase, too! HATES IT! He actually also hates sleeping on his back and will roll to his belly if I put him on his back He flops like a fish until he flips over I swear, only my friggin kids

My DD HATED being swaddled. She would scream and break out of it constantly so we finally just stopped. The funny thing is she is 21 months old now and she still hates being covered up with blankets. She always kicks them off. It's cute that she has the same habits as when she was a newborn.

Mine hated it from day one. She is always kicking and stretching. I am returning the swaddle me blankets and buying more sleep sacks. Those seem to work much better!

DD hated it.
I think more newborns than not have a love/hate relationship with it.
Even though DD hated it, we still swaddled her. She soon associated swaddling with sleeptime (not just bedtime, but also naps). And while she would spend some time whining and trying to wiggle out of it, the snugness and comfort of it would always win out and she slept VERY peacefully until we stopped swaddling at 6 months.

Hated it months 1-2 scream in protest, wrested, turned bright red. I didn't care, I swaddleed rocked shushed he was out like a light, asleep, in 5 minutes.
He needed it!
around 2.5 months he started to love it, I say "hands down" and he smiles at me, keeps his hands down and lets me swaddle, I pick him up, maybe sing one verse of twinkle twinkle, put him down in crib and falls asleep on his own. He fights it when it wakes up though, but just fusses not cries.

DS managed to get his hands out of the swaddled 3 minutes after he was born and DH was still holding him in the operating room.
That was the beginning and end of swaddling for us.

Adam is like a little Houdini. No matter how tightly I swaddle him, he manages to bust out of it. He HATES it, he'll grunt, kick, and wiggle around until he's free.

this is EXACTLY how i would describe both my DDs. they did not like to be swaddled at all!
