Anyone have a hearing test for their DC done?
DD got tubes last month so she had a hearing test today
She has to go back in a month b/c she heard and responded to some, then didn't respond either because she didn't hear or she didn't care anymore (we were in a soundproof booth and tones were played on either side of the room with stuffed animals there too). I swear I wasn't even sure on some!
Just curious if anyone else did this...

DD did this test after her tubes were put in as well. She was 13 months. We did nto have to go back; I guess they got all the info. they needed. How old is your DD? Everything is probably fine--- like you said, she might have just lost focus. it's hard for them to sit still and focus for that long. GOOD LUCK!

She's 20 months. She responded for some time and then she kept looking around at the stuffed animals, talking and talking...I was kind of upset we have to come back but what can you do? The audiologist said around this age is hard because they're not old enough to use the headphones but they also lose interest in this "game" really quickly....
I hope they find out in May. I swear though, some of the tones were SO low, I could barely tell Then again, I'm not so young anymore

I did, both children and for myself. DS couldn't be tested accurately ever. DD did okay. I was confused with some of them too.

Re: Anyone have a hearing test for their DC done?
My DS failed his hearing test a couple of times before he got tubes. He finally passed his 1st hearing test at 17 mo.
It is hard to test them. He needs to cooperate and the audiologist has to be good. I would ask them to redo it next time.

Re: Anyone have a hearing test for their DC done?
I had DS' ears tested. the audiologist did the same test you mentioned but also did another test afterward since he said the other one was "subjective." He put an earpiece in DS' ears and I guess it tested soundwaves or something Apparently he passed (although if it was based solely on the soundbooth test, he would not have).

Re: Anyone have a hearing test for their DC done?
DS has had about 100 hearing tests, he took the one that you referred to 2xs.
It's tough because of their attention span. He did great with the speech in all ranges but some of the lower noise sounds were harder.
We just keep going back for follow-ups. Now, DS is different from your DC since he has known hearing loss and we are just trying to confirm whether he would benefit from a hearing aid or not-he is right on the cusp.
Go back in May, a couple more months can make a difference in her attention span.
