Anyone on steroids during beginning of pregnancy here?
I just did my IVF cycle and am very early in my pregnancy.. exactly 6w 3days.. I have been put on steroids for N/K cells.. All I can say is I am not tired at all.. I cant sleep at all.. cant sit still for a second.. Is this the time when everyone gets exhausted and sick?? I pee all night long (every hour or so) and have terrible cramps in my feet so that makes me jump out of bed.. i know they ae symptoms but I am scared I should be resting and I just cant sit still for one second!! Anyone else have this experience?? TIA!

I replied to your fm. But, i wanted to also add. In the beginning, I didn't get enough sleep at all b/c I was up peeing all the time. And guess what, the peeing gets worse and you still do not get a good's night rest. As for the cramps in your feet, you probably lack potassium. Eat bananas!

Re: Anyone on steroids during beginning of pregnancy here?
I am on inhaled steroids for my asthma since I am a severe asthmatic. The symptoms you are having sound like early PG symptoms to me.......
I never had the first trimester exhaustion, I had first trimester insomnia. The exhaustion came in the second trimester
MS if you are going to get it can start anywhere from when you get your BFP to 8-10 weeks. My MS didn't kick in until 9W 3D
The peeing constatnly is normal and is caused by hormone changes.
Usually with steriods the symptoms you get are bloating and retaining water. You are very susceptible to getting dehydrated so that in combination with the pregnancy make sure you are drinking LOTS of water. Steroids can also make you irritable, but so can PG
Try and relax....... Everything sounds normal!

Re: Anyone on steroids during beginning of pregnancy here?
Congrats on your pregnancy!
I am 13 weeks now, but have been suffering from insomnia since week 2. It is terrible to know that you should be sleeping and resting, yet you can't. I sleep most nights from 9:30 to 12:30 and then it's on and off for 30 minutes here and there until I get up at 6:30.
I haven't found a remedy to help me, so I just rest/nap when I can and when I feel tired enough to do so.
Good Luck!

Re: Anyone on steroids during beginning of pregnancy here?
The wiredness is probably a combination of anixiety about the PG and possibly the steroids.
Exercising is GREAT during pregnancy. SO walking on the treadmill would be good. Just make sure you don't over do it and stay hydrated.

I have had insomnia much of my pg. I am a very restless person to begin with. Trust me, it won't affect baby or pregnancy at all.
ETA - Steroids can make you restless and agitated as well, it's a common side effect.

ITA! In the beginning I was peeing every hour from the night of my egg retrieval until almost 7 weeks pregnant. At 25 weeks, I still have not had a full nights sleep and I'm up at least 4 times a night to pee (sometimes more) I also was wired at night and had terrible insomnia. It's perfectly normal!

ITA Too! I am 17 weeks and cannot remember when I got a good nights sleep. It was probably the night of my retrieval!!!!!!! I can only imagine the steroids are making it worse! Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!
