anyone try inducing labor with acupuncture??

im just curious, ive had acupuncture several times in my life since i work in that field, mostly for pain management and stress relief....i am about ready to go any day now..and am strongly considering having acu tomorrow to help "move me along"..it also helps with pain management..i am 2.5cm dialated, lost my mucus plug, had my bloody show, and have been having contractions for 5 days now, just nothing timeable!!

has anyone had this done?? results??

(im not asking if you disagree with it lol, i dont want to start a controversy..im just wondering if it worked or didnt work for anyone )

My sister did. It wasn't so much induction as her acupuncture teacher wouldn't induce labor because he felt it's a decision the body makes. It was more used for pain management & to speed labor along once she was in labor.

While I didn't get to that point last pregnancy and am not near it yet this pregnancy, my acupuncturist swears by it. He says it kicks in within 24 hours of the treatment. It's not instantaneous. I know he does them often.

I had it done on a Thursday and went into labor on Sunday night. Ended up with a csec on Tuesday am - so not sure if it worked...

thanks so much guys!! Im going tomorrow, and was just alil nervous, but my acupuncturist also says its about a 24 hour thing
